We ❤️ kicking off the new year with a positive story like this one. Recovery Cards Project artist Madison Magor shares why it's so meaningful to both give and receive greeting cards that support people in recovery. During the holidays, Lift The Label hosted a card writing activity with members of CBS Colorado who took time to write hopeful messages on cards that will be shared via our Encouragement Delivered initiative later this year. Thanks to CBS Colorado for welcoming us, and for sharing Recovery Cards Project with your viewers.

"The holidays bring a lot of emotions to the surface. For some, it’s feelings of joy that make us love the holidays and look forward to celebrating with friends and family. For others, it’s sad and painful reminders that make us feel anxious and dread gatherings. If you feel this way, know that you’re not alone, and there are things you can do to find some peace this time of year."

Thank you to the Fort Morgan Times for sharing this message from Alia Andrews, recovery services manager for BHA. Along with her personal reflections on the holidays Alia shared how Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) helped her develop critical coping skills. CRAFT is a free resource for family members and friends of someone struggling with addiction (this includes alcohol, drugs, and more). It's a program available ONLINE in both English and Spanish.

Like the moon, recovery from addiction moves in phases; each one meaningful and necessary. 🌙🌟

No one should walk the recovery journey alone. Sending a Recovery Card is a simple way to remind someone that support is there for them, and that with every full moon comes the promise of new beginnings.

Did you know Community Reinforcement and Family Training, or CRAFT, offers strategies for managing the holidays (and every day)? CRAFT is a free resource for family members and friends of someone struggling with addiction (this includes alcohol, drugs, and more). It's a program available ONLINE! So anyone can join a group from anywhere. Groups are available in English and Spanish.

Alia Andrews, recovery services manager for Colorado Behavioral Health Administration, writes how CRAFT helped her cope with the holidays. In an article published in the The Daily Sentinel of Grand Junction she shares her personal story and a message of hope. "The holidays always seemed so joyful for everyone else. But, were they really? As an adult, I talk with so many individuals who had similar experiences to mine. Competition, commotion, fighting, and drinking were a part of life for many. In my middle age, I understand now that the holidays bring mixed emotions—and that’s fine."

Recovery from addiction is not one-size-fits-all. Medications have been proven to be the most effective form of treatment for opioid use disorder, and can be the support someone needs on their recovery journey.

Saxon’s story is a powerful reminder that finding the right resources can make all the difference in recovery.

Recovery isn’t a straight line, it unfolds in many moments of growth. 🫶✨

Sending a Recovery Card is a powerful reminder that support doesn’t always need words. It says: you’re not alone.
