Mission Statement: Dramatically increasing education about and access to somatic therapy for people who struggle with the effects of trauma so that they can heal and live a more embodied life with ease and joy.
Vision Statement: To inspire healthier, joyful and compassionate relationships and communities through embodied living.
Maybe you’re here because you’ve tried other methods of trauma counseling, depression therapy, or different types of mental health therapy, and didn’t see the results you needed. Our practices can help with all of these conditions, in addition to people struggling with eating disorders, PTSD, and mood disorders.
Since somatic therapy is a very personal experience, we want you to know about us, too. After all, how can we help you connect deeper with your body if we aren’t first connecting with you?
Learn about our practitioners here at Somatic Therapy Partners, and when you’re ready to book a free 30-minute consultation, we will be happy to hear from you!
ABOUT OUR STAFF:
Maira Holzmann, Founder
If you could have already thought your way out of problems, you would have done it.
This is something I tell many of my clients when we’re discussing whether somatic therapy is right for them. I believe that you can’t solve problems deeply rooted in traumatic experiences just by thinking your way through things.
Many people don’t know how to relate to and listen to their bodies. As a result, they are unaware of how to respond to the information that their body is telling them. By doing this, they can start shifting away from negative patterns and moving in the direction of their best life.
I’ve been a therapist for nearly twenty years. I have devoted the last ten of those years to learning about and deepening my education in somatic therapy approaches to healing trauma.
I have never seen the level of healing, transformation, and overall positive shifts in my clients than when I have used somatic therapy.
I want them to feel loved, to know they’re not alone in their struggles, and to feel hope and joy. And with somatic therapy, we can help reach that point.

I feel privileged to witness the courage and resilience of clients as they step into themselves and move toward their own healing. I’m so grateful to have the privilege of walking the healing journey with my clients.
I have a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in Gender and Sexuality from the University of Michigan and completed my Master’s in the Art of Counseling Psychology at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. I am a registered psychotherapist in the state of Colorado.
I’ve worked alongside a variety of populations including:
People with Eating disorders at the inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization levels of care
Families, couples, and children in community mental health center
High school students in a mentoring capacity within school setting
Providing parenting classes for court mandated and volunteer parents
College students and adolescents within a religious setting
I have extensive training and experience in working with adolescents and adults who struggle with severe Eating Disorders. I am passionate about helping clients to rebuild a meaningful connection with their bodies.
I’ve completed professional trainings in the following modalities:
Stephen Porges’ Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP)

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
In order to better serve clients with histories of trauma, I am in training to be a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).
I take my own self-care seriously, therefore when I’m not working, I love to sing loudly and often, laugh until my stomach hurts, and try out all the ice cream shops in Denver.
