This January, MorningStar Senior Living is celebrating the wonderful hobbies of our residents—and today we’re highlighting Joy, an incredibly talented painter whose love for art began at a very young age. 🎨✨

Joy knew early on that painting was her passion, sharing, “I won my first prize when I was in kindergarten.” One of her earliest works was a portrait of her “dolly rosebud,” and from there, her talent continued to shine. Each year when Scholastic Magazine came around, Joy frequently won awards for her artwork.

Joy has never painted for profit or recognition—she simply paints for the love of it. As she beautifully puts it, “I go to bed so excited to wake up and paint. Every night, I imagine in my head what I want to paint the next day.”

Painting is truly Joy’s passion and lifelong hobby, and her dedication is nothing short of inspiring. God truly gifted Joy, and we’re honored to celebrate her creativity and heart. ❤️
