Keeping Kids Safe—One Car Seat at a Time!

We saw more than 20 of families at our FREE community car seat check this past Saturday. Thank you for making it a huge success!

Our car seat experts provided education on how to keep their little ones safe on the road, and certified technicians were on hand to make sure car seats were installed correctly and fit each child’s age, weight, and height.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 400 children are injured every day in tragic crashes in the U.S. Here are 6 tips to make sure your car seat is installed correctly:

• Use a certified car seat that meets federal safety standards—look for the label.
• Always read both your car seat and vehicle manuals for correct installation.
• Keep children rear-facing as long as possible—until they reach the maximum height or weight allowed by the seat.
• Use a booster seat until seat belts fit properly (usually when a child is 4'9", between ages 8–12).
• Never place a rear-facing seat in front of an active airbag.
• Register your car seat with the manufacturer to receive safety updates and recalls.

When pediatric leukemia patient, Tao, couldn’t make it to the Rapids game due to being readmitted to HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s, that didn’t stop the Colorado Rapids Soccer Club from making his day unforgettable.

Tao was selected to be a “Rapid for a Day,” but when he couldn’t attend the match, the team brought the experience to him! Huge thanks to Colorado Rapids players Oliver Larraz ( #8) and Sam Vines ( #3) for visiting Tao in his hospital room, bringing positive energy, and showering him with team swag — including a soccer ball signed by the entire team!

Your kindness brought so much joy to Tao and reminded us all that the game is bigger than the field. Thank you for making his day so much brighter!

Meet Devin, a former patient who is making a lasting impact.

During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we want to highlight Devin — a former patient at HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s who is now making a lasting impact by giving back to patients walking the path he once did.

After receiving a pediatric cancer diagnosis, Devin underwent treatment at our hospital, where he experienced firsthand the challenges of long hospital stays — especially during the holidays.

But Devin didn’t stop at surviving. He turned his experience into a mission. He founded Hospital Homies, a non-profit dedicated to supporting pediatric patients and their families. Now, Devin spends his holidays delivering joy, encouragement, and support to children in the hospital — turning difficult days into moments of hope.

Thank you, Devin, for bringing light to the lives of others through your kindness and compassion!

When Anna was 15, she developed intense shoulder pain. She was eventually diagnosed with osteosarcoma and spent nine months in treatment at HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s. Through chemo, surgery and recovery, she found strength through their support, art and, yes, Taylor Swift concerts. Now 16, she is thriving. She even founded Anna’s Room, a nonprofit to bring comfort kits to other pediatric cancer patients - like her.

I found out I had osteosarcoma, which is a rare and aggressive bone cancer. Within days, I was sporting a port and starting chemotherapy. Life, as I had known it, changed in an instant.

Small businesses play an important role as job creators and are a pillar in communities nationwide. More than 4 million small business owners purchase healthcare coverage on their own and rely on Enhanced Premium Tax Credits (EPTCs) to keep premiums affordable.

But unless Congress acts soon, these tax credits will expire at the end of 2025. Many small businesses may face increased costs or be forced to reduce or eliminate employee health coverage.
