This Mother’s Day, we’re honored to celebrate the strength, love, and resilience of moms like Vivian Hernandez. 💙
When complications arose during Vivian’s pregnancy at just 19 weeks, she was admitted to HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Luke’s high-risk maternity unit—where every moment mattered for both her and her baby.
Just three weeks later, Sebastian entered the world at 22 weeks, weighing only 1 lb. 2 oz.—scarcely more than four sticks of butter. What followed was an extraordinary journey: 113 days in the Level IV NICU at HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s, where our dedicated small baby team provided highly specialized, around-the-clock care.
Thanks to that expertise—and Sebastian’s incredible strength—he went home two weeks before his original due date. A moment his parents and big sister will cherish forever.
This Mother’s Day, we celebrate Vivian, and all the moms who face the unexpected with courage and unwavering love.
Watch their inspiring story and see how compassionate, specialized care supported this family every step of the way:
After her son spent 113 days in a NICU, one Colorado mom will finally get to celebrate Mother's Day with her whole family together at home.
