Preston Hale Price was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on June 10, 1957. He died in Elizabeth, Colorado on May 11, 2022 at home at the age of 64.

Preston grew up on the Eastern Plains of Colorado with his sister Penny. Raised by Lloyd “Buck” and Doris Price, he would say it was time well spent. He spent his life in Colorado, attending the University of Denver and later Regis University. His time was spent in Elizabeth with his family, making visits to Kit Carson and fishing in Victor often.

Growing up he learned lessons about hard work, community, and approaching calving bison. He excelled in his technical career as a database administrator. While he was too tall to be an astronaut, Preston found a way to apply his technical work to space - an achievement he was most proud of. After retirement, he achieved a master's degree in cybersecurity.

He loved his family, gardening, fishing, and reading. With a sparkle and his eye and a joke ready, Preston found wonder in everything around him.
