Many athletes struggle with their postpartum bodies, often thinking, âIâm not exercising right now, so I should eat less.â
But this couldnât be further from the truth!
If youâre breastfeeding, your body requires extra calories to produce milk (and nourish your baby!). Even if youâre not, your body still needs sufficient fuel to heal from birthâno matter how your baby was delivered.
Focus on nutrient-dense, whole foods rich in protein and collagen to support recovery. If youâre breastfeeding, warm meals like stews, soups, and bone broth can be especially nourishing.
Remember, this is just a season of life. It doesnât define you.
Youâll return to the gym and track macros if thatâs your goalâbut right now, healing and nourishment should be the priority â¤ď¸
