We found this Wood Ear Mushrooms growing on a little wood stump in El Yunque National Forest. They are a well known edible and delicious in Ramen soups. Even though they are edible we did not harvested them nor disturbed their habitat considering that they are part of a protected forest. It’s worth mentioning that El Yunque is a biodiversity hot spot and may be the host of yet unknown species with medicinal and functional -active compounds. Let’s keep protecting this wonderful for future generations. 🫶
