From starting as a landscaper at 17 to leading transportation coordination almost a half-century later, Terry Turner has dedicated his entire professional career to making a difference at Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC). He has spent his legacy in nearly every department and was a pioneer in coordinating community integration.
Congratulations, Terry, and thank you for continuing to make such a positive impact on WRRC's individuals with IDD, their families and staff.

Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC) proved that summer’s hottest days are best served a la mode, as individuals and staff enjoyed a return to WRRC’s ice cream social. The frozen confection celebration brought participants together to cool down and catch up amidst the season's many trips and activities.

Individuals and staff from Wheat Ridge Regional Center’s (WRRC) 67th House voyaged down the Colorado River on a two-hour rafting excursion July 11. Hosted in conjunction with the National Sports Center for the Disabled, WRRC’s river rafters also enjoyed swimming and a picnic lunch prepared by Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional Radeen Smith.

𝐏𝐑𝐂 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐚𝐲
Pueblo Regional Center’s (PRC) individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities were joined by over 100 people of all ages and abilities for an adaptive baseball and softball day on May 2.

Hosted by PRC with community partners Pueblo Diversified Industries and Runyon Field Sports Complex, the event was a grand slam of community integration and agility skill improvement. Participants enjoyed baseball training with adaptive soft baseballs and bases, face painting, information booths and lunch. Local baseball teams of all ages assisted attendees and presented awards.

Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC) stood for disability rights in honor of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day at the Colorado State Capitol on March 19. WRRC individuals and participants toured the historic building, attended a State House of Representatives session and networked with other members of the IDD community.

Shrouded in shamrocks, Wheat Ridge Regional Center showed WRRC pride in Denver’s 2025 St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 15. WRRC’s individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities enjoyed walking, riding in a wheelchair or waving from decked out vans at the parade.

Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC) expertly navigated snowy paths and slippery inclines during two recent mountain adventures.
Through combined efforts of the National Sports Center for the Disabled and WRRC staff, three individuals cross country skied in Tabernash on Feb. 27 and seven individuals downhill/alpine skied in Winter Park on March 4.
