Individuals and staff from Wheat Ridge Regional Centerโ€™s (WRRC) 67th House voyaged down the Colorado River on a two-hour rafting excursion July 11. Hosted in conjunction with the National Sports Center for the Disabled, WRRCโ€™s river rafters also enjoyed swimming and a picnic lunch prepared by Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional Radeen Smith.

Pueblo Regional Centerโ€™s (PRC) individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities were joined by over 100 people of all ages and abilities for an adaptive baseball and softball day on May 2.

Hosted by PRC with community partners Pueblo Diversified Industries and Runyon Field Sports Complex, the event was a grand slam of community integration and agility skill improvement. Participants enjoyed baseball training with adaptive soft baseballs and bases, face painting, information booths and lunch. Local baseball teams of all ages assisted attendees and presented awards.

Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC) stood for disability rights in honor of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day at the Colorado State Capitol on March 19. WRRC individuals and participants toured the historic building, attended a State House of Representatives session and networked with other members of the IDD community.

Shrouded in shamrocks, Wheat Ridge Regional Center showed WRRC pride in Denverโ€™s 2025 St. Patrickโ€™s Day Parade on March 15. WRRCโ€™s individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities enjoyed walking, riding in a wheelchair or waving from decked out vans at the parade.

Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities from Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC) expertly navigated snowy paths and slippery inclines during two recent mountain adventures.
Through combined efforts of the National Sports Center for the Disabled and WRRC staff, three individuals cross country skied in Tabernash on Feb. 27 and seven individuals downhill/alpine skied in Winter Park on March 4.

As of Jan. 31, 2025, Colorado's three Regional Centers have achieved Quality Assurances Accreditation from The Council on Quality and Leadership. This accomplishment marks a major milestone in DRCโ€™s journey towards becoming a Center of Excellence in providing high quality supports and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC) frolicked in festive fun with a winter wonderland holiday party on Dec. 12. Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and staff enjoyed red and green confections, hang-outs with Santa, themed games and interactive crafts.
