A lot of families that I work with are concerned their toddlers aren’t getting enough protein. Most others need about half their weight (lbs) in protein (g) daily.

Each ounce of dairy milk is 1g of protein.

A 26lb toddler needs about 13g of protein.

16oz milk = 16g protein

Toddlers will continue to grow, and milk intake should stay about the same, so that doesn’t mean to give up on protein rich food foods like chicken, beef, legumes. It just means we don’t have to worry about it right now and instead, we can shift the priority to building a positive relationship with food.

Starting solids can feel like a lot. There’s a ton of information out there and lots of conflicting advice around the “right” way to feed your baby. These are a few myths I talk through with families I work with all the time!

What would’ve made this stage feel easier for you? Did any of these surprise you?

I created this video as part of the interview process for (👋) and figured, why not share it here too? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I love Amazon (I really do). But when it comes to supplements, this is one area where convenience isn’t always worth the trade-off from both a financial & health standpoint.

Supplements are necessary for so many kids - it’s just important to make sure that what you’re paying for is what you’re actually getting (and what they’re claiming to do). I always buy supplements from Fullscript or direct from the manufacturer for peace of mind.

Would you change where you buy supplements after seeing this?

When two people are battling for control at the dinner table, nobody wins.

If you’ve done all of this and meal times are still a struggle, there’s usually something deeper going on. This is where I come in!

If your kid was diagnosed with failure to thrive, it doesn’t mean that they are actually failing to thrive… It just means that they’re having some trouble gaining weight. So glad that the guidelines now reflect this appropriately!
