Being a birth doula isn’t always soft lighting, hand holding, and whispering affirmations 🤍
Sometimes it looks like:
— getting vomited on and not even flinching
— leaving a birth with someone else’s fluids on your clothes
— your sock soaked because membranes ruptured right onto your foot
— holding a leg for hours while your own body is screaming
— being the calm in the middle of chaos
— reading a room in seconds and knowing exactly what’s needed without being asked
Because this work isn’t about staying comfortable.
It’s about showing up fully, no matter what the moment brings.
It’s advocacy.
It’s presence.
It’s intuition.
It’s strength in the quiet, messy, powerful moments.
Birth isn’t always pretty—but it is always raw, real, and deeply human.
And it is an honor, every single time, to be invited into that space.
To every doula out there… you know 🤍✨
