We at the Colorado Constitutional Conservatives (CCC) describe ourselves as a Politically Moderate association that stands for Fiscally Conservative, Socially Constitutional Libertarian, and Environmentally Responsible ideals. We believe in limited government, personal responsibility, balanced federal and state budgets, social responsibility through social political involvement, and fully supporting and defending the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and the protections they provide for free men and women as citizens of the United States of America. Colorado Constitutional Conservatives seeks to make people aware of current issues and events surrounding the values we hold dear. What are the values we at CCC seek to uphold?
1. Colorado Constitutional Conservatives seeks to protect our First Amendment Rights to Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Expression, and Freedom of Speech. We do not believe that working for the State or Federal Government should mandate people be restricted from practicing or living their religious beliefs (unless directly contrary to Federal or State laws). We do not believe that the term "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion" means that there should be a "separation of Church and State" where lawmakers regulate freedom of religion and prosecute based on the smallest minutiae of controversial evidence. In a free society where freedom of religion is not only protected, but respected, true "separation of church and state" cannot exist. We must allow our legislative decisions to be not only informed by logic, reason, facts, statistics, and rationality, but also by principles, ideals, morals, and our consciences. The world's rich religious history is the foundation of philosophy, ethics, and morality. We must not allow our government to separate us from these values.
2. Colorado Constitution Conservatives seeks to protect and defend our Second Amendment Rights to Bear Arms. We hold that the purpose of this Amendment is to create a balance of power between our Countries Free Citizens and it's Government. We believe that the People by virtue of natural law retain the right to defend themselves against all threats foreign and domestic, and even from our own government if need be. In both modern and ancient times corrupt governments have sought to undermine and enslave their people by destroying their ability to protect themselves. We wholeheartedly support the people's right to bear arms and defend themselves. It is our opinion that the best national defense is an ethical and responsible well-armed population. We create our own safety and peace. The government can neither guarantee our safety or adequately protect us individually. "The Right to Bear Arms shall not be infringed."
3. We here at Colorado Constitution Conservatives fully support the right to "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." To this end, we advocate for Personal Sovereignty. We believe that a strong, independent country is made up of strong independent free peoples. We believe that the primary responsibility of our government is to protect the Personal Sovereignty of every citizen, and to promote and support their ability to remain free and independent. We believe that personal freedom is more important "public safety", as there is simply no functional way for a government to guarantee the safety of its people. We believe that the Right to Life is the Essential Human Rights issue of Modern Times. We see the respect and acknowledgement of Essential Human Life as being the primary indicator as to how a nation, society, and people will respect and value ALL life everywhere on the planet. We believe that all life is unique, special, and sacred - and should be respected in all it's forms. We strongly believe that a prenatal infant, with a distinctly different genetic makeup than his/her mother, and a distinctly different blood type with distinctly different blood type sub-groups is a separate organism than his/her mother. We believe that the termination of a pregnancy utilizing barbaric and excruciatingly painful methods should be made completely illegal. We believe that new painless procedures (utilized on the baby) for the termination of a pregnancy that are completely benign to the mother should be developed - and then only utilized under the gravest of circumstances with the health and final decision of the mother taking precedence in that decision. We believe that every attempt should be made to educate the mother as to the stages and development of the pregnancy, that they should be required to see an ultrasound or sonogram prior to their decision to terminate the pregnancy - if that is their decision. We believe that the education of mothers who seek to terminate their pregnancies as to the well-documented emotional and physical repercussions of terminating their pregnancy should be mandatory for all doctors to perform prior to the decision to terminate the pregnancy. We believe that the rights of the unborn Child should always be balanced with the rights of the Mother who wishes to terminate her Child's life. We believe that every attempt should be made at the State level to create an environment and facilities where the children of unwanted pregnancies can be cared for, nurtured, and grown up into emotionally healthy, well-educated, independent members of society. We see the provision and care of orphans and the children of unwanted pregnancies as being a justifiable reason for the increased taxes that are required to create the revenue necessary to create such care. We also believe that privately run facilities with government oversight (as opposed to state-run facilities) are the best places for these children to be brought up. To sum up... we support a Woman's Right to Choose, a Child's Personal Sovereignty, the Essential Right to Life.
4. We at Colorado Constitutional Conservatives respect the Sovereign Rights of the Family and the values that each Family seeks to support, promote, and uphold. We are pro-marriage and support marriage between two loving and committed individuals.... period. We seek to promote support for groups that advocate for and protect the rights of Traditional Families who seek to live and promote Traditional Marriage. We oppose is the education of our children at public and state schools to mandatorily include either heterosexual or LGBT sexual education. Sex discussion and education is an adult topic as sexual practices have adult consequences, and sexual discussion and education should not be forced on anyone - ever. Only adults over the age of 18 should be eligible to receive hetero-sexual or LGBT sex education - and only upon their personal approval to receive this education. We believe that legislation that defines human sexuality in the above terms and protects the rights of Individuals and Parents to rear and teach their Children the values and lifestyle choices they prefer without outside influence from the State or Federal Governments.
5. We at the Colorado Constitutional Conservatives believe in the Sovereignty of Nature. We believe in the responsible and ethical care for and maintenance of the Environment. We believe that Nature must be respected and cared for with educated mindfulness. We oppose Genetically Modified Foods, the excessive use of Pesticides, and the excessive use of Antibiotics, Hormones, or Steroids in animals raised for Human Consumption. We believe that modern manufacturing processes should be created to respect the natural eco-systems and all indigenous life. We believe that cornerstone species should be protected. Above all we believe that food produced for human consumption should be "clean", organic and produced in accordance with Nature. We oppose all genetically modified organisms is all their forms. We also oppose human cloning and embryonic stem-cell methods.
6. We at Colorado Constitutional Conservatives believe the Sovereign Rights of the People should be balanced with the Sovereign Rights of Corporations and Businesses. We oppose Corporate Personhood legislation that gives Corporations more financial power to influence the legislative process than US Citizens!!! It is our opinion that the will of Corporations, often times controlled by stock holders in other countries, should NOT be able to dictate or influence the legislative process within our own country!!! This is a HUGE oversight by the Supreme Court! We believe that every effort should be made to extricate the influence of peoples in other countries from the legislative process in the United States.
7. We at Colorado Constitutional Conservatives believe in the Sovereign Rights of US Citizens to DEMAND that their Government operate within their financial means. We believe that every fiscal budget should be balanced, include provision to eliminate debt and decrease the deficit, and that every cent spent should be recorded and accounted for. We believe in fiscal transparency and accountability. We believe that Government wages should be severely reduced. Government size poses a significant threat to the will of the people and should be kept in check at all times. If Government growth is not kept in check, than it is more likely to serve it's own interests than the interests of the people. We believe that no one who has served in Government should be allowed to have pensions that are exorbitantly high or even the same level as their paid salaries while working for the government. We believe that in order to encourage the government to promote the economy and financial independence of every citizen - pay for most government jobs should ever exceed the average annual income of all American Citizens. We hope that the above values are ones that the majority of Coloradans can agree with.
