"Obesity is a deeply personal issue for me—several of my family members have struggled with it, and I’ve seen firsthand how it impacts their lives. In my work as an emergency medicine doctor, I often encounter the serious consequences of obesity, and it’s clear to me that tackling this issue is one of the most meaningful ways to help people improve their health. By gaining this certification, I hope to make a difference in my patients' lives, addressing not just the symptoms but the underlying causes of so many chronic conditions."

"As a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist, I care for patients across the breast cancer care continuum.Through this work, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact of obesity on breast cancer risk, surgical outcomes, treatment complexity, recurrence risk, and overall health outcomes. My decision to [certify] stems from a desire to offer more holistic, patient-centered care. I am especially motivated to address obesity as a modifiable risk factor—not only to optimize preoperative outcomes but also to empower patients to reduce their long-term cancer risk and improve their overall well-being."
