We recently got to talk to sober home resident, Evans, about the progress he has made in his personal and professional life:

“Mentally, I was lost. I was stuck in the mentality that my life was just gonna be alcohol and that's it, for the rest of my life. I just got tired of living the way I was living.

It's scary at first but just taking that leap of faith and trusting in the people at Step is a guaranteed win. They're just here for my progress, which was a very big blessing for me.

The routine is what made everything manageable. After I just got used to going to work in the morning, going to do my chores, making my bed - everything just started falling in place.

It took discipline, man. I couldn't do it on my own."

What a powerful Cakes & Coins meeting! Last night three guys picked up 1-year chips, our Director of Operations Andre picked up 3 years, Recovery Support Manager Jason picked up 6 years, and to round out the evening our longtime Corporate Impact Partner Terry, from M&M Excavation, picked up 10 years and came all the way from Greeley to show the men that it can be done! Congrats to everyone who celebrated a milestone last night, thanks for showing us the rewards that can come from hard work in recovery.

THANK YOU to MODUS Real Estate () for hosting the FIRST Annual Step Classic Golf Tournament! It was beyond a success. Not only did they sell out the tournament, but they brought games, prizes, and silent auction items to help raise thousands of dollars for Step Denver.

Special shout out to Sarah Thomsen, Chuck Moore, and all the amazing volunteers that spent the entire day out on the course.

We already can't wait for next year!

What better way to celebrate the dog days of summer than with wings even hotter than the weather! Friday's RAC event - poker for prizes and plates of wings (this season's Hot One's Challenge) - provided our residents with plenty of fun to go around.
