Amanda is a speech-language pathologist and certified educational therapist with extensive experience working with children for speech, language and educational challenges. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder, graduating with a degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences. After graduation, she also completed her Speech-Language Pathology Assistant ce

rtification through the University of Colorado at Boulder, and began her career in the field of speech-language pathology. Throughout her career, Amanda has found working with children who have language-based learning disabilities to be one of her areas of true interest. It is this passion that prompted her to continue her higher education through the University of California - Riverside, and was the catalyst for her becoming a certified educational therapist. Most recently, Amanda graduated with her master's degree in clinical speech-language pathology, with distinction, from Northern Arizona University. In addition to her academic achievements, Amanda has also completed a 40-hour Yoshimoto Orton-Gillingham continuing education in order to become better versed with this multi-sensory reading, writing, and spelling intervention. She is also certified through the International Dyslexia Association Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI). Other notable continuing education courses taken include Childhood Apraxia of Speech: The Kaufman K-SLP Methods and Behavioral Strategies to Build Successful Vocal Communication, as well as many courses through both the International Dyslexia Association and American Speech and Hearing Association national conferences.

Amanda has had the opportunity to work with children who have a wide range of speech, language, and educational challenges throughout her twelve year career, predominately in the private practice setting. During her time in this field, Amanda has found her areas of specialty to be providing intervention for people who stutter and with children diagnosed with a language-based learning disabilities. It is the underlying language foundation of many language-based learning disabilities that prompted Amanda to continue her higher education in speech-language pathology, versus educational therapy. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time outside, going to concerts, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her cat, Marcel.
