It’s 7 PM here in Colorado, and we are just now getting to this post. And honestly? That feels exactly right.
Because real science isn’t always on time, it isn’t always pretty, and it doesn’t always make sense to everyone—and yet, it is.
It’s late nights, belief beyond belief, messy buns with pencils in your ears writing down batch records, testing, formulating, creating. It is the relentless pursuit of "better."
Today is International Day of Women and Girls in Science, and this one hits home for us. Since Day 1, our manufacturing lab has been powered by 85–95% women at any given time. Women formulating. Women testing. Women running the machinery, the chemistry, and the logistics that keep this company alive.
Women in STEM are shaping the future right now.
To the women doing this work with integrity, intelligence, and care: Your presence shifts industries. Your leadership expands what’s possible.
And to the girls who are curious about how the world works—who love math, biology, coding, plants, and problem-solving: Your curiosity belongs here, and in these fields.
We are proof of it. Tomorrow, Color Up turns 11 years old. That is 11 years of plant-based science, 11 years of women-led engineering, and 11 years of proving that "soft" skills and "hard" science belong in the same room.
Here’s to the women in the lab tonight, and the girls who will run it tomorrow. 🧪✨
