Dr. Claire Wilcox, MD

Dr. Claire Wilcox, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist and addiction psychiatrist, and she also completed an internal medicine residency. Dr. Wilcox has a long-standing interest in finding ways to improve treatments for all kinds of addictions. This interest started before medical training but became especially strong in internal medicine residency, when she took care of many people with chronic illnesses resulting from overuse of substances.

For over a decade, Dr. Wilcox was a faculty member at the University of New Mexico in the Department of Psychiatry where she saw patients, provided education to medical students and residents, ran the addictions fellowship, and ran several addiction research studies. Dr. Wilcox is now an associate professor at the Mind Research Network where she is continuing to investigate new treatments for alcohol and to***co use disorder. She sees patients in her private practice (www.wilcoxmd.com) and other settings in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and writes about psychiatry and addiction psychiatry for a number of organizations.

Jeremy Barnett, LMHC, CGC, CASAC

Jeremy Barnett received his BA in Psychology and cognitive science from Hartwick College in 2010, and his MA in Mental Health Counseling from Yeshiva University in 2014. He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York, a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, a Certified Grief Counselor through the American Institute of Health Care Professionals, and a Grief Recovery Specialist through the Grief Recovery Institute.

Through his Master's program, Jeremy worked mostly with the elderly struggling with depression, grief, isolation, and dementia, often combining clinical interventions with music therapy techniques. Post-graduation, he began work at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in NYC where Jeremy became passionate about working with those struggling with addiction as well as mental health issues.

Currently, Jeremy holds a position in NYC as an addiction therapist at Inter-Care, running the Intensive and routine outpatient programs in the evening, along with the grief recovery support group. His long-term goal is to provide high-quality care to those suffering from addiction, mental illness, and unresolved grief.
