This sweet girl learned the hard way that not everything is a snack. She managed to swallow something she shouldn’t have, but the good news is:
✔️ She safely passed the hair clip on her own
✔️ She’s already eating and feeling much better
✔️ No surgery needed…just careful monitoring and care 🫶🏼

Foreign body ingestions are one of the most common emergencies we see, especially in curious puppies. If your pet swallows something questionable, don’t wait! Early evaluations can make all the difference.

We’re so happy this girlie is back to doing what puppies do best: being adorable!

This sweet girl strutted in dressed to impress for her suture removal after a successful foreign body surgery! We’re happy to report Moogey’s healing beautifully. Brave, stylish, and officially on the mend. 🫶🏼🐾

Kiera here came to Denver Animal Emergency for her peepers, but left with alllll the love! Lots of kisses, big smiles, and the happiest girl in the world! 🐾🫶🏼 (10/10 would recommend her snuggles)

1/31/26 We are open but have LIMITED staffing due to road conditions. We are only able to accept a certain amount of patients to ensure all pets get safe and prompt care. PLEASE call before coming in. 🐾❤️

We will reopen today, January 26th at Noon! Thank you for your patience and understanding. We have only ever closed our doors two times in the almost 10 years of Denver Animal Emergency. We did not make the decision lightly and are thankful for the ability to keep our clients and staff safe. ❤️🐾

1/26 Update: We are back OPEN and here to serve. Please keep in mind that we may be short staffed but we will do our best to get everyone taken care of.

We apologize for the inconvenience but we have to close today due to our staff being unable to safely get to work. If you have a pet emergency today, is open , but please call ahead. We hope to open back up tomorrow morning, but will keep everyone updated. Please stay warm and safe! 🐾🫶🏼

We will be open throughout the upcoming storm for true pet emergencies. Please keep in mind that if we lose power or do not have enough staff we may need to make adjustments. If you have any concerns about your pet PLEASE have them seen today or tomorrow early in the day. Do not wait until the roads are treacherous if possible. Stay safe and warm this weekend! 🐾🫶🏼🥶

Blue got himself on Santa’s ‘uh-oh’ list last week, by accidentally ingesting a few things he shouldn’t. After a speedy visit and some TLC, he’s back to being jolly. 🎄🫶🏼🐾

Bailey’s been battling pancreatitis, but this brave pup is crushing recovery. Tail wags are back, appetite is strong, and his sparkle is shining again. 🫶🏼 Keep cheering him on! He also totally LOVES his mom! 🥰 🐾

Lola is a 1 year old Frenchie who presented recently for abnormal breathing that the owners noticed the night before. Dr. O’Hara and his team ran diagnostics and Lola was diagnosed with a suspected lung lobe torsion which is where the lung flips/twists on itself, and consequently, cuts off blood supply to the tissue. The DAE team rushed Lola to surgery to remove the twisted lung. With the help of our ventilator and amazing surgical team, Lola’s left lung was removed. Today, she returned to get her staples removed and although she likely will not be running marathons in the future, Dr. O’Hara was able to give her a good bill of health for hopefully years to come!

Buddha stopped by for a UTI check and our team fell head over heels! Such a good boy, and his owner is pretty awesome too 🫶🏼🐾🫠
