Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery

Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery Founded in 1959, Olinger Hampden Mortuary & Cemetery is here to serve your family at the most difficult time.

Founded in 1959, Olinger Hampden Gardens Mortuary & Cemetery serves the needs of approximately 225 families every year. Our meticulously landscaped grounds cover more than 28 acres, with several sections with upright markers, such as the Garden of Peace, as well as semi-private estates and the Cremation Nature Garden. This garden includes a fountain, niches for urns and an area for ground burial o

f ashes. We are also an endowed-care cemetery, which means that when you purchase a monument, property or grave marker from us, we reinvest a portion of that revenue back into the cemetery for maintenance and improvements in perpetuity. The funeral home, built in 1996, can be fully open or closed off in sections, depending upon the size of the service. Our highly trained and professional staff is always ready to help families with a wide range of services, including prearranging, traditional burial or cremation. We offer valuable preplanning information to help individuals and families discuss and record their wishes and distinctive catering services as a convenience for families to assist with receptions.

The Mummies of Guanajuato, Mexico are a number of naturally mummified bodies interred during a cholera outbreak in 1833. The human bodies appear to have been disinterred between 1870 and 1958. During that time, a local tax was in place requiring a fee to be paid for "perpetual" burial. Some bodies for which the tax was not paid were disinterred and found in a perfectly and naturally mummified state.
