There are moments that grow friendships… apparently, going LIVE on TV together is one of them. 🥺🎥

This morning, thanks to the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention Philadelphia Chapter and the incredible opportunity created by Andrea Ferrino, we had the chance to be interviewed by Ceasar and Rachel Malak on Positively Philly.

In the green room, we practiced our lines, gave each other feedback, calmed nerves, and hyped each other up. Then suddenly… we were LIVE.

And honestly? The perfectly practiced lines went right out the window. Instead, we leaned on trust and friendship! 💜

Now we can’t wait to see everyone on October 10th at the Navy Yard for the walk. 💜

Tomorrow is my first LIVE interview, and I am so excited. 💜 Positively Philly

When I first started volunteering with American Foundation for Su***de Prevention Greater Philadelphia, I never realized how many stories I would have the privilege of hearing.

From the committee I volunteer with to the people I meet through this work, every conversation continues to remind me why I stepped into my role as Education Chair: because Talk Saves Lives.

I am incredibly excited to share that on Wednesday, May 27, Andrea Ferrino and I will be interviewed on Positively Philly to talk about our upcoming walk and the Talk Saves Lives program. 💜

Stress can be a funny thing.

During my “Where Are You on the Stress Spectrum?” activity, the conversation shifted to something many of us experience but do not always recognize:

💜Our stress tends to rise at certain times of the week, month, or season of life.

The important part is building awareness of those patterns and understanding which tools, boundaries, or support systems you need during those moments.

Awareness is not weakness; it is information. And when teams can recognize stress before reaching burnout, they communicate better, work more safely, and support one another more effectively.

🙏 Thank you to Sweetwater Construction Corp. for recognizing the importance of providing your team with the full range of tools and resources they need to succeed both professionally and personally.

Work-life balance sounds nice… but how realistic is it, and honestly, what does it actually look like?

At EDA Contractors, INC. we discussed real-life scenarios around boundaries, communication, and expectations in the workplace.

Because while not everyone clocks out at 5 PM every night, and no, it may not be heart surgery, some roles do require late-night phone calls, urgent decisions, and flexibility.

The conversation became less about “perfect balance” and more about understanding:

💜 What is truly an emergency?

💜 What can wait until tomorrow?

💜 And how do we respect both productivity and people in the process?

One department’s emergency may not be another’s, and learning how to communicate those expectations clearly can reduce stress, burnout, and frustration across a team.

🙏 Thank you for the thoughtful conversations and engagement throughout the workshop. Angela L. Fiocca Sarah Browning Ethan Nolan

We all know what happens when we Ass-U-Me. 🤣

It’s one of my favorite sayings to use when teaching communication because it opens the door to an important conversation: learning the difference between ➡️ what we heard and what was actually said.

In the workplace, it’s often said that nearly 80% of stress is connected to miscommunication, unclear expectations, assumptions, lack of clarification, or simply feeling unheard. When teams improve communication, they also improve trust, teamwork, safety, and overall workplace culture.

A huge thank you to CI Services, LLC, A Unitek Global Services Company , and to Matthew Applegate for recognizing the importance of providing education, coaching, and resources to support their team.

Thank you for a great day filled with conversation, coaching, and my educational communication workshop. 💜

This weekend, we launched our first Construction Hike for Hope, bringing together 50 hikers at Wissahickon Valley Park to walk nearly three miles in support of mental health in the construction industry and honor those impacted.

With the support of our volunteers, sponsors like Skanska and General Building Contractors Association, and our incredible community, we’ve already raised $19,577 toward our $40,000 goal!

❓ Did you know:
🚧 The rate of death by su***de for construction workers is 5.5 times the rate of all other construction fatalities on the jobsite.
🚧 The rate of su***de in construction is more than four times higher than in the general population.

👋 💜 Hi, I’m Jessica, founder of JTY Consulting (Journey to Yourself).

I work with teams, leaders, and fast-paced workers (especially in construction & the trades) to talk about something we all deal with:

😲 Stress. 😲

Here’s what I’ve learned, personally and professionally:

Stress doesn’t stay at home.

And it doesn’t stay quiet on the job site either.

It shows up in how we communicate, rush, assume… and react.

➡️ August will mark six years in business, ranging from providing interactive workshops and speaking engagements to employees to my first book.

I am on the Education Committee for the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (Philadelphia), supporting its Talk Saves Lives program.

I am a dog mom, a wife, and the middle child. I have the loudest laugh in the room and 🤫 secretly want to be a comedian.

I have a few more projects and books planned. Stay tuned; your girl is making moves.

☕ If you care about:

• Stronger teams, Safer workplaces, and Better communication

• Love connecting over a good cup of coffee

• Dogs

• Finding time to laugh

We’ll get along just fine. 😊

Thanks for being here (or welcome if you’re new).

For years, I’ve been focused on the trades.

But this was my first time focusing on women in the trades… and it changed everything.

🎤 I got to lead my “How to Heal from Stress” workshop full of laughs, real talk, and amazing connections.

At my vendor table, I met some seriously strong, hardworking, no-BS women.

This event sparked something bigger

New workshops.

A more focused mission.

More support for women in the trades.

Stay tuned… I am just getting started. 🔥

As Judaline Cassidy said, follow the spark, or you will lose it!

🙏 Thank to so many amazing women who put the Summit together Jazmin Rodriguez Jennifer Dewees, LEED AP Cozette Conrad, and so many others.
