Whatever you’re feeling today, same 💜💜

Be with the messiness. Be with the complicated and dissonant parts of self. But know you don’t have to be in it alone. Same.

There’s still time! The last month of the year doesn’t have to be spent in a constant battle with food and your body. Sometimes even a few sessions with an intuitive eating dietitian can be enough of a start to feel more confident.

You can reach out at our link in bio for a free 15 minute consultation. Telehealth and in person options available.

Don’t wait another minute to enjoy the best thing about the holidays (the food, duh 😊)

(Momma Mia) Here we go again! 🎶🎶

Daylight savings time is almost here for many of us. Temps are dropping and the days are getting shorter. This can cause panic for some of us who experience seasonal depression and mood changes in the winter.

So, if you know what is coming, it only makes sense to make a plan! We’re a big fan of just going back to basics.

Including:

🍂Stay on top of taking your medications and maybe even add some supplements like vitamin D. This might not be the time to stop your SSRI without talking to your doctor or therapist

🍂 Eat on the clock. Don’t skip breakfast and make sure you’re not saving calories for the end of the day. Nutrition=energy we desperately need. If appetite is an issue, lean on calorie dense foods that are easy to digest. If you struggle with binge eating, remember that restricting all day increases your chances of initiating that binging cycle

🍂Make social plans! Have a couple things after work or on the weekends to look forward to. That 5-9 pm time can be tough. Maybe some nights you do need to just go home and lay on the couch, while others a gym workout or a dinner with a friend is best

🍂 Add movement in where you can and spend a little time outside each day. Could be a ten minute walk at lunch or just sitting on your porch with some coffee. Get your face in the sun if it’s out and listen to your body when it tells you if it needs rest or movement.

Nothing we’re saying is revolutionary AND we so easily forget the basics of just maintaining our mental well being when struggling with seasonal changes. Give yourself grace and write down a plan you think will work for YOU 🧡

This is your sign to take a breath, put down the calendar, habit tracker, Apple Watch, etc and notice how you’re feeling IN your life now.

Goals are great. We need them. We wouldn’t be therapists if we didn’t believe people could change and grow.

But somewhere along the way you became a little too focused on the goals and the ways in which you *could* be better.

You are allowed to just BE. In fact it’s necessary to fuel your next ambitious adventure in life✨💜

Being “fit” or thin or in “good health” is not a pre requisite for enjoying the outdoors and getting joy from movement.

You’re breathing a little louder than the person next to you? Thank goodness your lungs are working the best they can!

Thighs rub together? Need to wear that ankle brace for support? Make stops regularly to let your body rest? Great. Don’t let toxic body image or fitness standards prevent you from living life outdoors.

What’s your favorite way to be outside!? ⬇️

I have nothing but gratitude and pride for my q***rness. It is my whole heart.

I can’t think of many things I love more than being in a space full of q***r folks and that’s where I get to be all weekend!

See you out there fellow q***rs!

Omni Counseling and Nutrition just celebrated our five year anniversary on June 13th! 🎉🎉🎉

In 2018 co founders Corrie and Melissa officially opened Omni’s doors to support clients on their varied and winding journeys to recovery.

While Omni continues to evolve and grow, inclusion and harm reduction remain the heart of our practice.

Welcome Rachel Ohene, Occupational Therapist, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, and Pelvic Floor Specialist!

During her time working in the hospital stabilization level of care for people with eating disorders, she started to recognize the prevalence of pelvic floor dysfunction for these clients, which was the catalyst for advanced training in pelvic health. She deeply understands that eating disorders are a social justice issue, and is passionate about advocating for and supporting clients with marginalized identities.

If you are struggling with functional GI discomfort/distress, digestive issues, pelvic pain, constipation, or incontinence,

Rachel would love to connect and can be reached via email at Rachel@liberatepelvichealth.com

She currently directly bills medicaid and medicare, and can provide superbills for those privately insured. From now until Summer Solstice, she is offering 10% off evaluations for privately insured client's who reference Omni or this post.

Just a millennial group practice trying to stay with memes about therapy…

😂😂😂jokes aside….who can relate to the initial confusion!? It feels so opposite of everything we’ve been taught is “the right way to eat”. You deserve to live a life free from rigid rules, body checking and shame.

Spots are open for therapy and nutrition clients this summer!

Whole Person Nourishment

Hi, we’re glad you’re here.

At Omni, we are here to provide excellent counseling and nutrition care and support, and also to spread the good word of non-diet, weight neutral, diverse body advocacy, and eating disorder recovery focused ideas! We believe the world needs to hear these messages and that we have a unique voice, as both counselors and dietitians, to be able to spread them.

Omni was co-founded by Corrie Van Horne and Melissa Preston, who are both Licensed Professional Counselors (Corrie is a candidate) and Registered Dietitians. Corrie and Melissa both worked first as dietitians but realized that supporting the whole person, rather than just the nutrition and food aspect of their client's experience was something they desired. That is what led them to pursue their counseling degrees.

Corrie and Melissa have over 25 years of combined experience. They came together to create Omni Counseling and Nutrition to provide a community resource and to serve as a space where clients can come to receive counseling support fused with nutrition therapy. Corrie and Melissa utilize Health At Every Size® and Intuitive Eating in their work with clients.
