A counseling internship at The Mariposa Center is a supervised, hands-on clinical position for graduate students, which requires a 12-month commitment and 20–25 hours per week, with roughly 60% focused on direct client care.
Interns provide Creative Arts and counseling for individuals and groups, conduct assessments, and develop treatment plans while receiving regular, mandatory supervision from a licensed professional counselor.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Direct Clinical Services: Providing counseling to children, adolescents, or adults in-person or via telehealth.
Assessment and Treatment: Conducting intake interviews, diagnostic assessments, and developing treatment plans.
Case Management: Maintaining confidential, accurate, and timely electronic clinical documentation and progress notes.
Supervision and Training: Attending weekly individual and group supervision, case consultations, and professional development training.
Collaboration: Working with multidisciplinary teams, including case managers, physicians, and/or school staff
