Meet Dr. Jaren M. Riley, MD, a board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic spine surgeon based in Denver, CO, whose passion for treating scoliosis has shaped his entire career. He’s dedicated himself to helping children and teens with spinal deformities—treating everything from brace-based interventions to advanced spine surgeries like vertebral body tethering (VBT) .

Early detection and treatment is key! Dr. Mitchell brings more than 27 years of clinical experience and is widely regarded as an expert in treating complex congenital heart disease in neonates and children of all ages as well as adult congenital heart disease. What are scoliosis treatment options?
Our team individually creates a personalized treatment plan for each patient because we realize each patient is unique. First the treatment primarily is guided by the severity of the curve and the age of the patient. From there options include observation, bracing (we have custom bracing for each patient), physical therapy and lastly surgery.

What are risk factors related to a scoliosis diagnosis?
If a child has a family history of scoliosis this is a reason to seek out a specialist as soon as possible. Children with other health issues or neuromuscular conditions should be monitored closely for scoliosis symptoms. Ruff day? Here's something that will surely brighten it up!

? HealthONE has a successful animal therapy program that serves thousands of patients and colleagues. Our therapy animals have their own badges and even earn anniversary pins for their years of service. Our four-legged colleagues have brought smiles to so many, including ill children, grieving parents, doctors and care teams.
