The entire Eyes of the World - Washington Park team are excited to introduce the newest member of our eye care family — Dr. Amanda Groenhuyzen!
Amanda Groenhuyzen, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she graduated summa cm laude with advanced training in primary eye care, pediatrics, and ocular disease. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science from Texas A&M University in 2017, graduating magna cm laude. After optometry school, she completed a residency in ocular disease management and surgical co-management at a respected surgical practice in San Antonio, Texas. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association and the Colorado Optometric Association.
Dr. Groenhuyzen is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain lifelong eye health. She provides comprehensive care including routine exams, pediatric screenings, contact lens fittings, and treatment for conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, macular degeneration, and corneal abrasions. Her interest in optometry began while working as an ophthalmic assistant, where she was drawn to the clinical setting and fascinated by how much eye health reveals about overall wellness. She finds it rewarding to make a difference in her patients’ lives through clear vision and preventive care.
In 2023, Dr. Groenhuyzen relocated to Colorado to enjoy its active, outdoor lifestyle and wellness-centered culture. Outside of the office, she enjoys hiking, playing soccer and volleyball, cheering on the Denver Nuggets and Buffalo Bills, and spending time with friends.
