Denver Health Paramedics is happy to announce Heather Edwards as our new Deputy Chief Paramedic for Performance and Development. In this new role, she will join the senior leadership team and oversee the strategic vision of administration, clinical performance, and EMS Education. Deputy Chief Brent Stevenson will continue to direct Operations.
 
Heather began her career with the Paramedic Division as a vehicle support technician in 2006 and has served in many roles, advancing to senior command staff. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Service and Administration from Villanova University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado.

On August 13, 2025, Regina was recognized on the field at Coors Field during their Employees of the Month Celebration. Regina has worked Opening Day 4 years in a row, keeps the command post full of good vibes, and facilitates collaborative partnerships with all the agencies we team up with at the ballpark.

The Lee Fire, which started burning on August 2nd after thunderstorms, was initially estimated to be around 100 acres in size. Despite continuous efforts from multiple wildland teams, the fire has steadily grown and is now at just under 89,000 acres and 0% contained. This photo was taken by one of our paramedic wildland team members who arrived at the Lee Fire yesterday and is assigned to night operations.
