Huge appreciation to our Team Player award and Engaged Belogning recognition recipients this month! 🎉

For March the team player awards went to Sam and Adrianna - two people who go above and beyond taking on projects and supporting teammates, all with positive affect!

And the Engaged Belonging recognition goes to Susan - this is an acknowledgment for someone who exemplifies what it means to do this work and to amplify our work, something Susan exudes in everything she does!

Big thanks and congrats to Sam, Adrianna, and Susan! 💜

Lots of socks! It's World Down Syndrome Day, which falls on the 21st of March every year. This year the theme is Together Against Loneliness.

Loneliness happens when people are not supported to build and maintain connections with other people. At DFX, we work with every individual to support their sense of engaged belonging across the contexts of their lives.

The World Down Syndrome Day website and associated activities are coordinated by Down Syndrome International in collaboration with the National Down Syndrome Society and the Down's Syndrome Association. You can learn more about at https://www.worlddownsyndromeday.org/

And join us in wearing wacky socks! When people ask about them, tell them about World Down Syndrome Day 🧦🧦🧦

We love opportunities to teach and learn together in community - this past weekend .stackhouse and were hosted by to discuss deepening and elevating practice, with a focus on nature-based practice, through use of the STEPPSI© clinical reasoning tool.

It was such a joy to gather with this group of engaged, committed, connected professionals. Creative courses like this fire up our practice!

In last month's Learning Journeys Community forum, .stackhouse shared about a few gestures she uses in interactions to create connection, relational space, and possibility - including the infinity symbol.

Join us in the community to watch the recording from last month's discussion and then meet with us live in a few weeks for case processing!

For the past three years, we have had the opportunity to dive into training, case review discussions, and reflective practice that centers deep understanding of the intersection of mental health, development, and equity. In recognition of this focus, we had a team retreat where we reflected on how we integrate knowledge to best support clients and how we embody the mission and pillars of DFX.

And we were delighted to host DFX co-founder Mouse for another round of creation! As described by Rita Vali, the originator, "The "Hopeful Birds Project" was created during the Coronavirus pandemic to spread art, kindness, and smiles to people everywhere. The birds serve as a symbol of community and resilience, uniting us to share hope, compassion, and moments of joy."
