Often, I will use a pendulum to help determine flow of energy (Qi) and blockages in a patient's Channel or Organ systems, according to Chinese medicine.
A pendulum can be made from metal or stones, and can swing side to side, go wildly in a circle, vibrate, or can do nothing! ----~These all tell me the state of the person's Qi.

Chinese medicine always aims to balance the body and to promote homeostasis~Cupping can also be a diagnostic tool, telling me where the patient's energy (Qi) or blood is not flowing correctly (stagnation), where there are areas where the blood flow is weak (coldness, a white color), where there is inflammation (heat, redness), and where there is a fluid metabolism issue (dampness, swelling). These are all signs that I need to regulate an imbalance in the patient’s body.

~I try to keep a hand on my patients to let them know where I am in the room, and to help support trust and security.
