PSA: Important Update from RMGY

Dear friends and supporters,

Goat yoga has been a wonderful part of our journey for the past 8.5 years. I have hand-raised every goat in our program and kept them all because I love them.

We’re at a different place now, and my focus has shifted. The novelty aspect of RMGY will take a back seat as we center our efforts on therapy, ambassadorship, advocacy, and responsible stewardship in our program.

I’m scaling back goat yoga and shifting toward fire mitigation and therapy in memory care through the Goat Walkabouts organization and its trade names. This is how our herds can best serve the community and honor my parents in my work. I trust this new path will be financially sustainable beyond the trends of goat yoga.

When times were good, I invested in our community. Today, I don’t have the means to maintain the full goat-yoga operations or hire dedicated RM GY personnel, and I don’t want to stretch our resources thin. I’m changing as a person, and I don’t want to disappoint anyone, but I’m uncomfortable continuing in this direction.

Goat yoga has been a meaningful stepping stone, and we’ll still host events—though far less frequently. This isn’t just a novelty exhibition. Self-enrichment has never been my primary goal; I’ve always envisioned a program that endures beyond me. I’ve worked hard to build and sustain our organizations while growing personally. This program has been part of my healing.

I feel more complete working in natural habitats with goats who aren’t “perfectly cute” but who contribute in meaningful ways. We may expand our rescue efforts, but I must keep our herds steady and support the A-team to cover operating costs outside the goat-yoga program. The costs and demands aren’t always understood, but I do understand them.

We have a divine mission and a journey ahead. Our community has been invaluable in preparing us for our true purpose. I appreciate your patience and dedication. I’ll stay focused on the goal, and I welcome any support—whether a kind word, a comment, or a donation to our new program. It’s all love.

You can feel great knowing that RMGY or any affiliate will ever treat our goats like an event prop or some novelty exhibit. Our animals are sacred to us. They don’t belong to us. They are gods creation and we’re the trusted stewards.

ABOUT RMGY

ROCKY MOUNTAIN GOAT YOGA

Rocky Mountain Goat Yoga has been cultivating smiles and happiness with Colorado goat herds since May 2017! Established and founded by entrepreneur Jim Naron, he has been working endlessly to create Colorado's goat yoga culture with a team of dedicated staff.

Since our beginning RMGY has worked with several goat herds, rescues, ranches and farms. Not only do we strive to provide the best goat yoga events in Colorado but we also work hard to provide other unique services like Baby Goat Grams.

We pride ourselves on our sanitation controls and our safety policies that create a safe and sanitary event, every time! If you have attended our lessons, you will notice how well our farmhands are trained and how alert they need to be to make your experience perfect!

All of our goats are also trained! We work with the herds from around 3 weeks old when we start bottle feeding them. It isn't uncommon for a doe to reject one of her kids and we are happy to be their surrogates. The farmers we work with do most of the upbringing but the tricks and stunts are the result of RMGY training. These goats are truly goat yoga pros!

When humans interact with animals in this way, their brain releases a chemical called Oxytocin and reduces the production of the hormone called Cortisol. Cortisol is the stress hormone that we all produce from hard and long hours at work. Staying up late on that homework assignment or any other life related issue.

From a biological stand point, we are literally relieving stress in humans with goats.

We enjoy cultivating smiles and happiness in Colorado! We are honored that Colorado has given us a huge warm welcome and we are excited to create the goat yoga culture in this beautiful state!
