be well is helping residents turn community engagement into real policy influence. 💚⚖️

In 2025, community advocates mobilized to defend Medicaid reimbursement for Community Health Workers during Colorado Senate Bill 229. Over 25 residents engaged in testimony prep and legislative outreach, helping preserve $1.4M in funding for the CHW workforce and protecting vital health access programs statewide.

Residents tracked bills, issued policy alerts, and met directly with lawmakers, showing the growing power of community leadership. 🌱✨

As one advocate said: “We were the squeaky wheel, and we got the oil — the CHW program still exists, and that matters.”
