Hello Deaf Communities in Colorado!

The High School State Finals! We have a young deaf player on the team competing for the championship in Colorado Springs on Saturday, November 15, at 6:00pm!

He and his family wanted to see the deaf community coming together to enjoy a soccer game.

“Seeing deaf people at the stands would be a great moral support for me!”

See you there! More details are on the flyer.

Sign Language Community Interpreter Experience Survey
(For people who reside in Colorado Only)

Deaf Coloradans Study Group wants to hear from YOU! Share your experience with ASL interpreters in Colorado. Your story matters. This survey is for Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard-of-hearing ASL community members.

All information will be kept confidential and will not be shared without your permission. We are only collecting general statistics. The final question is more personal and may be requested for the possibility of sharing with outside groups, but only with your consent.

Transcript:
Hello to the deaf community of the State of Colorado. I need your help. My team and I are working on a project to collect your stories and experiences with accessibility and sign language interpreters.

Why? Because the system isn’t working the way it should. We know it. You’ve been there. I’ve been there. Do we want the system to stay the same, or can we make it better for Deaf Coloradans?

Don’t forget: no action means nothing will change.
We’re collecting information through a simple form with questions. This is not about blaming anyone. It’s about showing the big picture. So the state can see where and how things can improve.

Please fill it out for the sake of the Deaf community in Colorado. Share it with your fellow deaf people. This is about solidarity. When we come together, our presence is stronger.
Your information will be fully confidential. We’ll also share the findings later, once everything is collected.

Let’s be the reason the system gets better.
