Shavuot is a threshold. Shavuot means weeks. I spent seven weeks, counting and painting and listening and learning. Painting, Gold, purple, crimson - painting, along with the Omer and painting along with Sefer Yetzirah. Culminating in the nights of Shavuot and of Shabbat. Dancing with the letters, with the revelations they engender. Drumming and dancing with priestesses, with Beit Kohenet, drumming, and dancing around sacred fire, with Wilderness Torah🔥 Until the quiet of the dawn. Where the gold letters mingled with roses and sky.

This April I am joined by a circle of sisters to commemorate my moon pause. 37 years of blood and cycles, now I enter a new stage of growth and evolution, one that only we women, along with whales and elephants live - as wisdom keepers post childbearing years. “Few other animals have a menopause; humans are joined by just four species in which females live substantially longer than their ability to reproduce, (whales, narwhals, orcas and short-finned pilot whales). Cool 🐋

Breathtaking past two weekends in Ukiah, leading a retreat at Mariposa institute and leading a bar mitzvah: the retreat - our first ever Mariposa “minyan” over Spring Equinox, with 4 other Kohanot, singing, praying, shabbating, and kvelling in being on land together and emerging from mitrzyim into expanse - dreaming the world to come.
