Happy new year!! I’m sorry to say that Twin Hawk Reiki has moved to Oklahoma. My experience in Colorado was one of positive growth and personal development of my own insights, power, and connection. I am so thankful for everyone who supported me over the years and I’m glad I was able to help people heal and process. For now I’m not sure if I’ll be restarting my business in Tulsa but I’ll be sure to post when that has been decided. I’ll truly miss Colorado’s beautiful mountains and the strength in nature I found there. Gratitude.

I’m enjoying the change of climate, scenery, and culture in Darjeeling, West Bengal! The mountain weather is fickle. This morning I enjoyed the sun and warmth and now I’m waiting out a hail storm on this rooftop restaurant called Keventer’s.

I’ve always been enchanted with frog song coming from a pond. Whenever I hear them I try to get closer to spot them, but as soon as I move they become silent. I was lucky enough to catch these on video as we ate lunch near a temple and this well in the Aravelli Range of Rajasthan.

When the frog shows up frequently in your life, Spirit wants you to learn to grow from change, and not let yourself become intimidated by it. Frogs have a strong association with transition and the temporary, constantly evolving nature of our lives. They can show us to become open to what these changes will bring, and to connect with our emotions and feminine energy in order to stay in tune with our higher selves.

On our three day backpack trip we visited a swami’s cave. There are many caves like this in the Aravelli hills of Rajasthan and people have been making homes in them for a long time. We enjoyed ginger tea prepared over a fire.

Sunday's full moon was very powerful. It also coincided with the first night of Holi. We walked around to see the stacks of firewood being prepared for the evening's festivities. The most auspicious hours were between 7-9 pm. The priests make prayers at the base of the pire. People make offerings and light candles. Each community has their own wood pile, with a smaller pile of dried cow paddies next to it for the kids. The anticipation builds as people begin to gather. The fires are lit with the full moon glow. The dry wood sparks quickly and the fires are left to burn all the way down. The direction the pile falls indicates good luck or how the upcoming year will be. A few of them fell to the north, which indicates a good year. When it's safe, people walk once around the glowing embers clockwise to set their intentions. I made my own prayers of gratitude, abundance, joy, love, adventure, and success for Twin Hawk Reiki. It's already off to a great start, as I had my first paid session in India and reiki sessions are now available for guests at Forest Eco Lodge in Mount Abu! I'm back in my element in the Aravelli mountains of Rajasthan, the hill station called Mt. Abu. There is no actual peak of the name, but its meaning is "freedom of the hills". It is much cooler and more peaceful than the bustling city of Agra. I've been walking 4 km or more a day and feeling good. Charles is an outdoor guide who was born and raised here and he knows these hills and the people like the back of his hand. Yesterday we went for a 7 km hike on Tiger Path, an easy walk through the woods, with some repeat clients. We were lucky enough to spot 3 sloth bears! The first pair was only visible by binoculars on a ridge across the valley. But the second sighting was much closer, also safely across a divide, and much more photogenic of a spot, with the bruin sliding down rocks in search of food. Americans have grown up knowing the name Baloo from the Jungle Book, but I just learned that it is actually the Hindi word for bear! I also came to Mt. Abu at this time because the wildflowers are blooming. Happy to be here and grateful to Charles and his family for their hospitality!
