There comes a point in your development where your belief in chiropractic either deepens or stays surface level, and that shift is often tied to how clearly you understand this principle.
βThe function of force is to unite intelligence and matter.β
β Principle #10
If this lands fully, it changes how you see every adjustment you deliver.
In your practice, you are not simply working with structure, nor are you merely trusting that intelligence is present. Your role lies at the intersection of the two. Force is what allows intelligence to express through matter, and the quality of that connection determines how well the body can coordinate, adapt, and organize.
This has direct implications for how you approach care.
When someone is on your table, the question is not whether they have intelligence or whether their body is capable. Both are already true. The real question becomes how clearly force is moving through their system and how effectively that connection is being maintained.
When that connection is diminished, expression changes. Intelligence is present, and matter is capable, yet the bridge between them is not communicating at its high bandwidth.
This is where your adjustment matters.
You are not adding anything to the system or forcing change on the body. You are optimizing clarity through the pathway through which force travels, so intelligence can coordinate matter more effectively.
When you begin to see your role through this lens, your certainty increases. Your focus sharpens. Your adjustments become more intentional because you understand exactly what you are influencing.
Principle #10 gives you a stronger foundation in your belief system. It clarifies that chiropractic is centered on connection. Intelligence creates, matter expresses, and force is what keeps them united.
Your responsibility is to optimize that connection.
When you adjust to that level of clarity, the work becomes more consistent, more grounded, and more aligned with the principle itself.
