Serving the Community Since 1977

Nearly 40 years ago, our founder, Walter S. Jackson, had a dream of a community-based program that would offer addiction treatment services for the Five Points community. More importantly, Walter Jackson didn’t just dream, he went to work. He organized the community. He gained support from a wide range of social investors to finance the services. He recruited a strong personnel staff that understood the challenges of addiction in a personal and professional way. He fulfilled a need for the community and—at the same time--realized his dream! That dream is still alive and has been sustained by community support, hard work, and sensitive, competent staff who are dedicated to those we serve. We enter this Year with a renewed sense of purpose, commitment, and a touch of Walter’s spirit. We look forward to continuous improvement of the services we currently provide along with plans for implementation of new programs and services to meet the ever-changing needs of community. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you--this year and many more-- with anticipation, excitement, and appreciation.

Much misconception stills exists regarding the alcoholism, addiction problem in our society. There are many who don't realize that alcoholism/addiction is a disease that does not discriminate. Alcoholism/addiction (known more recently as substance use disorder) occurs in ALL walks of life. RECOVERY does not discriminate either! Treatment and recovery are available for ALL who have a genuine desire for them REGARDLESS of social standing or ability to pay.
