Today marks 3 years without my handsome first born son. People say time heals but it does not, not with this kind of unnatural loss. Every moment of every day I am thinking of you Vaughn. I’m thinking of what you would be doing, where you’d be at and how we’d be planning for your graduation and your future. I wonder how your voice would sound now and how your personality would have changed. I’ll never get over the rage I have that life was stolen from you and I’ll never stop trying to live for you as I carry you with me. I love you forever and ever and I can’t wait to see you again šŸ’”šŸ˜ For those that didn’t know Vaughn, he was the most perfect pregnancy and baby, he was such a blessing and brightened my life so much. He walked and talked so early and was so damn smart from the time he was a toddler. He grew to be so brilliant, extremely stubborn, kind, caring, and so very protective of his 3 baby brothers and his little cousins. He would always argue about what he thought he knew and thought he knew everything šŸ˜… he was so affectionate with me and constantly asking for a hug for no reason, loved playing with my hair ever since he was about 6 months old and would still do so even at age 14. He loved so fiercely and I was so lucky to be a recipient of that love. When he was diagnosed with leukemia, he was so hopeful and knew he’d be okay. He would worry about me since I was very pregnant and even after having Roman, Vaughn would feel bad and apologize that I had to spend time in the hospital with Roman and sometimes away from Carter. He was worried about others as he was going through cancer and chemo after chemo, if that doesn’t speak to what kind of person he was, I don’t know what does. He was such a wonderful big brother and all his brothers miss him dearly. I don’t know how I am able to live through each day without my boy but I thank God for my other babies who give me purpose and for giving me the strength to get through each day. I cannot wait to see you again Vaughn and I know you’re watching over us

We are beyond excited to announce that our first act of financial assistance has officially been given 🄳🄳
To a 14-year-old warrior and her family facing AML, we were able to offer support during an incredibly difficult season 🧔

One family helped. Many more to come.

šŸŽ„This holiday season, we want to take a moment to share more behind our ā€œwhyā€, Vaughn. Vaughn really truly loved Christmas and the whole holiday season ever since he was a little boy! We would do holiday activities like driving around drinking hot cocoa and finding all the coolest Christmas lights, getting bundled up and seeing lights at different places and spending so much time with family.

On his very last Christmas, he was doing a round of chemo and we had to spend it in the hospital. All of his close family came to the hospital on Christmas Day and had our Christmas in the hospital cafeteria. After we ate and did gifts, we all went outside, ran around and had a silly string fight. Everyone spoiled him and he ended the night telling us he thought it would be a bad Christmas but it was really great! Every holiday season is excruciating but we always try to keep his spirit alive and share as many memories as we can. Here’s a few of his Christmas memories ā™„ļø

We know how hard Christmas can be while going through things like mental illness, depression, and loss. Especially when your lost loved one loved Christmas and this time of year, just as our Vaughn did. We wish you a Merry Christmas and hope there is some joy you can find during this time, and know it’s okay to not be okay and you do not have to put on a face for anyone! 🧔

Today we delivered 39 holiday packages to the Children’s Hospital that once cared for my sweet Vaughn.
What began in a place of deep loss continues to grow into something full of love, light, and hope.
Each bag was filled with comfort, care and a reminder that these kids are not alone!
Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this possible!! This was for Vaughn, and for every child spending the holidays in a hospital room.
His love continues to reach other children who need it most ✨
Forever honoring him. Forever choosing hope. šŸ¤

The behind-the-scenes moments ✨
Sorting, packing, and pouring love into every bag — all for the bravest kids. We created 39 packages sorted by age range and gender! We are endlessly thankful for everyone who donated or brought toys and of course to Wayne Carle Middle (where Vaughn attended) for their toy drive for us that was a huge success!! We are thankful for all the blessings we received ā™„ļøā™„ļø
Swipe to see the finished magic šŸŽ

As lights go up and celebrations begin, we remember that the holidays can be heavy for grieving hearts.

If this season feels different, slower, quieter—
that’s okay.

Grief doesn’t take a holiday, and neither does love.
We honor those we miss and the light they continue to bring into our lives.

Sending love to anyone navigating the holidays without someone they love šŸ¤
