Jewish Family Service of Colorado JFS is a nonprofit human services organization that serves anyone in need. Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) is a nonsectarian, nonprofit agency.

Founded 150 years ago, we currently offer more than 30 programs and services, including food security, housing stability, mental health counseling, aging care, employment support, chaplaincy, refugee resettlement, and disability services. JFS takes a holistic approach, assessing the various needs of the individual or family and provides the appropriate services all from one organization. We continuously evaluate the evolving challenges of our community and adapt or develop programs that respond to the resulting needs.

This month’s program spotlight shares the story of Zarifa, a refugee client who found support through the JFS Employment Program. With guidance from our team, she was able to continue her education and pursue meaningful work to support her family.

Zarifa shared:

“I thank Jewish Family Service for having such human assets who are really in the benefits of new immigrants coming to USA regarding continuing their education and finding their job in the field of their interest.”

A few minutes of your time can help shape mental health and substance misuse support in Denver.

Caring for Denver was created and funded by Denver voters to invest in mental health and substance misuse solutions that reflect what our communities need most. Their work is shaped by what they hear from the community—and they want to hear from you! Take a few minutes to complete their short survey at surveymonkey.com/r/CfDcommunitysurvey and share what’s important to you. Whether you live or work in Denver, your voice matters.

At JFS, volunteers deliver nutritious food each month to older adults and people with disabilities who are homebound through our Aging Care & Connections Food Delivery program. This service not only provides meals but also eases the stress of family members, knowing their loved one is receiving a friendly check-in and high-quality food.

One volunteer shared:

"I enjoy seeing the same clients. Over time I have developed relationships with a few of them. It’s rewarding to me how grateful everyone is. I get more out of delivering the food than the clients could even know."

Learn more about how you can support older adults in our community at jewishfamilyservice.org/volunteer-aging-care-and-connections.
