Did you know that when settled breast milk has 3 distinct layers?

✨Fatty layer: creamy top layer that contains the highest fat content
✨Hindmilk: opaque & creamy layer that’s rich in fat, helping satiate the infant’s appetite
✨Foremilk: watery & translucent layer that’s rich in lactose and protein, helping quench the infant’s thirst

Just give it a swirl to mix back together and it’s ready to feed your baby! 🌀

The human body is incapable of producing sufficient amounts of choline, meaning it must be obtained through a person’s diet or dietary supplements. Foods high in choline include, but are not limited to: eggs, legumes (i.e., kidney beans), broccoli, potatoes, and shiitake mushrooms. Current data has suggested that “most women in their reproductive years do not achieve the recommended daily intake of choline” (Dymek et al., 2024, p. 1).

Here are some important roles of choline 👇🏻
✨Helps combat inflammatory breast conditions
✨ Plays a key role in the production of cell membranes
✨Supports liver function, neurotransmisson, and brain development
✨Can positively impacts an infants memory capabilities

[Dymek A, Oleksy Ł, Stolarczyk A, Bartosiewicz A. Choline-An Underappreciated Component of a Mother-to-Be’s Diet. Nutrients. 2024 Jun 5;16(11):1767. doi: 10.3390/nu16111767. PMID: 38892700; PMCID: PMC11174651.]

*Taking a choline supplement may be contraindicated for individuals with bipolar disorder and certain genetic conditions. This is NOT medical advice. Please don’t start any new supplements without consulting your doctor.*
