Dr. Caleb Kronen presented on hearing loss prevention to the next generation of artists and musicians at the Get Loud Music Summit in Denver, organized by Youth on Record. Many of the participants were touring musicians here for the three-day music festival called Underground Music Showcase - UMS in its 25th year. Participants learned about habits and tools to level up their music career while keeping their ears safe.

Did you know you can get custom ear plugs specifically for playing music without sacrificing the quality of sound? Make an appointment at the Marion Downs Center to get a baseline hearing evaluation and discuss options for protecting your hearing as a musician.

The Marion Downs Center’s Marion’s Way summer camp went “swimmingly” with our beach unit! 😎

The cornerstone of our fun revolves around helping children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing develop strong listening, spoken language, and social communication skills.

One important strategy is to optimize listening through advanced wireless microphone technology. Phonak’s Roger system connects to both hearing aids and cochlear implants to create a listening connection which bypasses distance and competing noise.

This support gives every child the best chance to stay connected, focused, and fully engaged in the experience. You can see the joy effective communication brings to our staff as well as the children! 😃

March 3 is World Hearing Day! Your hearing health is important!

Even children are at risk of hearing loss with loud video games and toys as well as musical instruments.

Musicians and employees exposed to loud noises can protect their hearing by using custom-fit ear plugs.

As you get older, it’s important to get your hearing tested regularly.
