"Functional Training for the Colorado Lifestyle!" We specialize in utilizing functional training and cutting-edge research in human performance and nutrition. We are FMS1, TRX, TRX Force, TRX Rip Trainer, AIARE 2, NSCA and StrongFirst Mountain Strong Certified. We use TRX and kettlebells to safely and efficiently get our clients into the best condition possible to enjoy their favorites activities. Plus - we have a lot of FUN doing it!. We operate out of Colorado so many of our clients want to get better at recreational sports - skiing, snowboarding, split boarding, mountain biking, hiking, rafting, running, swimming and climbing are some of our favorite actives to train for.

I still have to pinch myself that this actually happened. I had the great honor of being in Pavel’s book “The Quick and the Dead” with many fellow StrongFirst friends.

It’s a great book, awesome program and it’s helped a ton of people.

Plus there is an audio book, narrated by Pavel. Hearing him say “Sean Sewell, Colorado mountain man” is truly mind blowing 🤯 😎🙌

Tonight, 15 years ago, I asked Hotdog to marry me. My original plan was to ask her at Hanging Lake (really beautiful waterfalls here in Colorado), but they closed the area down (that day!) for summer renovations.

So….. I went to Backcountry Brewery and asked if they had any openings for dinner and a view of the fireworks.

They did not.

Then I mentioned that I hoped to ask my girlfriend to marry me that night. The manager said, “Heck yes, let’s do this!” then we went to the next level, and we set up quite a nice night!

He allowed me to hook up an iPod (remember those?!) to play our favorite song (Dave Matthews—You and Me) at 9 p.m., just as the fireworks went off over the marina. I had Sami’s best friend, her mother, and Sami’s mother in attendance. (Thank you for the support, ladies!!)

At dinner, I was so nervous that I only had a chicken wing. And several beers LOL. She said yes, the fireworks went off, our song played and we made a lot of new friends that night.

I had the great honor of being interviewed for our community newsletter. I know I have shared how much Sami, Chloe and I LOVE our neighborhood, neighbors and new home a lot this last year, and I stand by that. This was really rewarding as I got to meet other entrepreneurs who also happen to be neighbors as well. Each of us supporting each other and our businesses.

Fun fact, our neighborhood earned best new community in the US, 3 times in 4 years. Among other awards. It’s that awesome. We always have a room to share if you are in town. 😊

Happy Heavenly 40th birthday to my brother, Matthew.

He was a kind and giving. He was high functioning special needs, but it did not stop him from finding joy in life. He embraced his abilities and enjoyed many activities.

He volunteered with my Mom, delivering food to patients at Littleton Hospital. Called bingo at assisted living centers. Walked dogs at vet clinics. Packaged up food at the food bank. He gave more than he took. His unconditional love for others was infectious.

When I am in the mountains, I think of him enjoying the experience with me. At night, I think of him then often see a shooting star. It is pretty incredible. But so was he.

Its been a heck of an epic Summer! Just looking back at some of the pics and am blown away. Lots of great times with incredible friends and family.

- building a home
- going for walks to learn the lay of the land (and the epic sunsets)
- LOTS of camping. With great friends and lots of kiddos and dogs!
- getting to use the Overland Expo Foundation truck for a camping trip
- meeting over 50 companies at OMA
- creating a new business and getting to train folks on the 11th floor patio (right across the street from where I lived when I was a DJ - 20+ years ago)
- getting to host my mentors and friends - Brett Jones and Analisa Naldi!
- getting to host all of our friends and family for 4th of July, and every weekend since May LOL.
- getting to work with ALL the brands this summer - I mean ALL the brands LOL. Just look at our Engearment website and youtube channel
- Chloe got to be a big sister to our neighbors dog - Leia (as in Princess Leia)
- we got to host several neighborhood events, and everyone got to know each other!
- Went on an epic backpacking trip with Verde Brand Communications and several other media pros. Made new friends. Got to hang out with Matt from MSR - Mountain Safety Research and test out gear
- built (and did not kill) a yard. I am loving mowing and pulling weeds LOL
- the list goes on and on...

But I am SUPER grateful for all the opportunities and the growth this summer. Sami, Chloe and I are loving every moment of it!

Incredible weekend camping with my wife, dog and several teammates 🏕️😎. We had a blast in Leadville camping and cold plunging in the lake. I was super stoked to get to take the official Ultimate Build truck out too. It’s a really nice setup and will be auctioned off in a month. All funds go to a great non profit that offers grants to individuals and organizations that are working to make the outdoors more accessible and sustainable. Check out to learn more.
