In response to requests for a few more leopard images, I am uploading a trio of originals, including the one that I recently converted to a digital fine art image. Sometimes nature gives you a gift, but not wrapped exactly the way you wanted. I sat for over two hours waiting for this leopard to descend from her perch up in a tree. Other safari vehicles came and went, but our guide was convinced she would eventually come down, and it would be worth the wait (thanks Nick!!!). He was right, and it certainly was! However, the background sky was pure white due to exposing for her in the shade of the tree. When life gives you lemons, you can try to make lemonade. In this case, I took the original high-key image (which I still love!) and decided to treat it to a course of blending, masking and texturing to yield what my imagination saw. While AI may generate a similar image within seconds, my original photograph took several hours of work to re-create the thrill I felt as this beautiful animal came down to stretch!

Nascar at Watkins Glen a few weeks ago was amazing! Road racing is such a special challenge and so fun to watch. Here are a couple of Mustangs coming through turn 1. Watch for a few more to show up on my website in the Auto Racing gallery!

One last example of the precision demonstrated by the Blue Angels recently! This team of 4 were flying at high speed while two of the pilots were inverted. This image was taken just before they reached their closest position as the top plane dropped even lower toward the middle plane. Not a good time to confuse up/down or right/left! These pilots are amazing and a real credit to the Armed Forces!

Since I am sidelined for awhile after a recent knee surgery, I have had a little time to go back and look at a few images from some airshows this year. I have uploaded several to my website, www.virtualimages.net in the "Flight" gallery (located under the "Other Galleries" tab) and also uploaded several new coffee mugs in the Gift Shop. These mugs are a great gift for the aviation lover in your family, and its never to soon to start holiday shopping since its just over 3 months away!

OK.. one last Blue Angels image from last weekend. Next weekend will be NASCAR so be prepared, and be sure to send any special requests if you have a favorite driver!

The recent Hilliard Vintage Racing at Watkins Glen was a great warm-up to the upcoming NASCAR race. The Glen is such an amazing track with so much history, and so many unique perspectives to photograph. This image was extremely difficult to capture as it required a slow shutter speed (1/125 sec) to create the background blur while the car moves past at 150-180 mph. You miss quite a few, but you only need one keeper!
