It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Dr. David Niederee, who passed away peacefully at his home on December 7th, 2025.

He was our leader and friend as well as an exceptionally capable physician and the loss is great. It is in his honor that we endeavor to carry on his vision and legacy in providing health care to this community that he so diligently served. As we navigate this difficult situation, we will strive to keep patients informed and accommodate all needs to the best of our ability.

We appreciate all your support and prayers during this time.

Happy be-lated Thanksgiving and Black Friday! We were all so busy spending time with our families we forgot to post what we were thankful for.

We are thankful to our families, our providers, and of course, you our patients! Giving us the opportunity to heal and care for our community.

We had several departments go all out for this Hallow's Eve! We invited the Damm Pharmacy next door to vote on their favorite Department Costume and Individual Costume.

Best Department Winners: Credentialing with their Addam's Family themed costumes/decor

Best Individual Winner: Physical Therapy with the mistress of bad herself, Cruella Deville

We have some creative folks here at the Derby FMC.

If you come in to the office from now until Friday Oct. 31st, you have the opportunity to vote for your favorite pumpkin!

One pumpkin even survived a car accident with minimal "injuries." Thankfully our docs checked out the pumpkin and cleared it to be on display.

Family MedCenters, PA worked together to put on a Trunk or Treat on Oct. 25th.

As some of you may know, Family MedCenters has several office locations such as Derby, Mulvane, Rose Hill, South, and Southeast.
Derby is where it all started and so we invited our other office staff to come back to "Home Base" to hand out candy.

It was pretty rainy but our team improvised and through it all we still had a good turn out. Talk about dedicated trick or treaters! The fan favorite was Venom and Bride of Vemon! There was even an epic battle of good vs evil!

We are seeing an uptick of Covid in our community. The most common symptoms reported with this wave are similar to a common cold with some also experiencing diarrhea and fatigue. Most people can manage these symptoms easily at home with over-the-counter measures. Quarantine for 5 days…then as long as there is no fever, patients can come out of quarantine with a mask.
