The Spirit of Planetree Award recognizes exceptional individuals, including clinical and nonclinical staff, volunteers, patient and family partners, and community contributors, who are advancing person centered care and making a meaningful difference in healthcare.

Healthcare organizations around the world are invited to submit nominations and celebrate the caregivers whose commitment to compassionate, collaborative care deserves global recognition.

Award recipients will be honored in person on October 13, 2026, during the Person Centered Care Global Forum Awards Gala in Boston.

At Planetree, we love celebrating the incredible people who make person-centered care a reality! That’s why we launched the Employee Spotlight series.
Today, we’re celebrating Sultan Jarboue Salaheldin , Regional Coordinator EMEA , who joined the team last December.

💡 What He Does : As a Regional Coordinator at Planetree, he supports hospitals and healthcare organizations across the EMEA region in implementing person centered care. His role focuses on helping teams apply the Planetree Framework, track progress, and prepare for certification. He coordinates projects, manages partner communications, and supports the planning of trainings and workshops, ensuring initiatives run smoothly and contribute to improved care quality, staff experience, and patient outcomes.

❤️ What He Loves About His Job : What he values most about his role is knowing that his work directly improves how patients, families, and healthcare staff experience care. Beyond coordinating projects, he supports hospitals in creating environments where people feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for.
This work is especially meaningful to him because Planetree’s philosophy aligns closely with his own values. He believes healthcare should be compassionate, respectful, and centered on people rather than processes. The opportunity to support organizations across different countries, learn from diverse teams, and contribute to measurable, lasting change motivates him to think globally, grow professionally, and make an impact beyond a single institution.

🎉 Fun Fact: For 2 years in a row, I slept during New Year's Eve, forced my parents to wake up early so we could attend tennis tournament across the country where I ended up practicing with two top-10 players.
