On October 25–26, 2025, the PCC Middle East Forum took place in Doha, Qatar. 🌍💛

This inspiring gathering brought together leaders, caregivers, and patients from across the region all united by one goal: to make healthcare more human.

Over two days, powerful conversations, shared learning, and genuine connections highlighted the growing movement for Person-Centered Care in the Middle East.

Today, we’re celebrating Cherilee Rutherford, Certification Manager, who joined the team last June.

💡 What She Does: As Planetree’s Certification Manager, Cherilee guides healthcare teams on their journey to person-centered excellence. She helps organizations navigate the certification process with clarity, encouragement, and a touch of fun — because at its heart, it’s all about people caring for people.

❤️ What She Loves About Her Job: Cherilee is inspired by the moments when compassion and connection transform care. Seeing teams bring humanity and dignity to every interaction reminds her that real impact starts with people feeling seen, heard, and valued.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Marij Naarding, a valued member of the Planetree Netherlands senior leadership team for nearly 15 years.

Marij was a deeply respected colleague whose insight, empathy, and steadfast commitment to person-centered care left an indelible mark on Planetree’s mission in the Netherlands and beyond. Her leadership and humanity helped advance the practice of compassionate, patient-centered care across countless organizations and communities.

In her final reflection, Marij shared a message that beautifully embodies the authenticity and courage with which she lived and worked.
