A Death Café is a welcoming, informal gathering where people come together—often over tea and cake—to talk openly about death, dying, and living more fully. The movement began in 2004 when sociologist Bernard Crettaz hosted “café mortel” in Switzerland, and it was later brought to the UK by Jon Underwood and Sue Barsky Reid in 2011, inspiring a global network of events. Death Cafés are not grief support groups or counseling sessions; rather, they are spaces for conversation, reflection, and sharing diverse perspectives. The group guidelines are simple: respect confidentiality, allow everyone the chance to speak, listen without judgment, avoid promoting specific agendas (such as religion or business services), and honor the spirit of openness and curiosity

lol please don’t immanetize the eschaton… 😂. Finally made it to ! A very cool place to stop on our way home from Mystic. We love used books and they had an amazing selection - we saw two of the three locations, spent a couple of hours and could have easily spent a couple more….
