We are swinging into May with our new swing stand and 100 new swings (therapy equipment haul video soon???). Also maybe Mr. Justin is the new favorite for putting it together 🤔

Suspended equipment is such a fun and effective way to provide vestibular input (important for regulation and supporting coordination of movements against gravity) while also challenging core strength and balance. All of our new swings offer limitless ways to address skills for functional and important outcomes! The added bonus is that they are incredibly fun and offer a dynamic challenge that motivates our friends to learn and grow.

Our last OT to introduce is Sarah!

Sarah graduated from ULM as an OTA in 2018 and as an OTR in 2022.

My favorite part of being an OT is finding ways to connect with my patients and fill the gap between where we are and what they want, need, or are being expected to do.

When not in the clinic, Sarah spends her time reading, traveling, and bringing home animals.

Another day to celebrate OT!

Today we are introducing our lovely Zahria! Zahria graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University in 2023.

When asked what she loves about OT she shares: I really value the relationships I build with patients and their families. I especially enjoy being part of a child’s growth—helping them develop the skills they need to play, learn, and become more independent. The kids keep me on my toes every day, pushing me to stay flexible, think creatively, and adjust on the fly to meet their needs.

When not at the clinic Zahria is usually chasing after her one-year-old daughter, watching a good TV show, or organizing her home.

We're celebrating OT month and introducing our wonderful OT practitioners!

First up is our Abbie! Abbie graduated from Bossier Parish Community College in 2024.

When asked what she enjoys about her field Abbie shared: I love that no two days ever look the same. One minute I’m on the floor playing, the next I’m on a swing or covered in slime, all while helping kids build important skills. My days are fun, a little chaotic, and always meaningful.

When she's not at the clinic, you can find Abbie spending time with her fiancé, Austin, being a YaYa to her nieces and nephew, relaxing at home, or spending time with friends and family.

We love you Abbie! Thank you for all that you do!

Today we are celebrating World Down Syndrome Day by wearing . This year we are highlighting the role of loneliness. According to WDSD, we can stop loneliness through real inclusion, creating and maintaining welcoming spaces, and developing meaningful relationships.
