Getting our soap making practice in early to prep for our facilities Fall Festival this year!

Some structure improvements were suggested (we got to talk about how moving our cup would increase our odds of winning) but overall our Catapult game was a success!!

We can’t wait to go make adjustments && move this catapult game outside!!

Happy National Chocoolate Chip Cookie day!! We had so many Residents excited to get in on tastings that we forgot to get pictures of each type of cookie! Thankfully someone remembered towards the end so we at least have something to remember today!

We celebrated by tasting 9 different chocolate chip cookie variations.

Reese’s Chocolate Chip Soft cookies won by a landslide.

Even our mobile cookie cart tasting most picked cookie was the Reeces Peanut Butter chocolate chip!!

So blessed to be able to share a special day with special people.

Loving that today’s dream catcher art went so many different directions ❤️ some made bracelets, some made dream catchers and some just reminisced with us. Some just took the items on the table and created whatever came to mind.

Sometimes a change of plans is just what we needed.

Staff had a spa-tacular time at our spa-day. The administrative nurses pulled on their pink gloves, and tied their aprons to give our hard working staff a special treat.

We had such a fun time with “Pin the Cucumbers on the Girl”, the closest one to place the cucumber on her eyes won a prize! Such a nice and relaxing day.

Thanks Mrs. Connie, for such a wonderful day! I know everyone is so appreciative of you!

We had a long trip out to Wayback's Arcade today and it did not disappoint one bit! Nothing but smiles all around from our residents and from all their reviews, this might be one of their favorite trips thus far. If you haven’t been yet you are definitely missing out.
We also stopped by Koal's BBQ & Steakhouse before heading home. You know that food is good when the table goes silent! Full bellies and hearts today thats for sure 🩵

Huge thank you all our staff for spending the day making this a wonderful outing. It always goes smooth because of yall!

Our Garden is Growing… and so are the smiles!

At DRRC, we started our Tursday with a visit to our beautiful garden. 🌼🍅 We’re loving how full and vibrant it’s becoming—just like the energy inside!

For our weekly art class we did a creative twist—back-and-forth art!

Afterward, we shifted gears and brought out Skip-Bo for a little friendly competition. Everyone was ready to shuffle, stack, and strategize!

Everyone, Meet Kayla! Kayla is a CNA at DeRidder Retirement & Rehab Center. Kayla is an 🤩ALL STAR CNA🤩!! She is the kind of CNA that you want and hope for in every CNA. You will NEVER hear her say 'that isn't my job'. If there is a need the need is met by Kayla. She shows up and shows out ....on time at that! We are extremely proud of her and So thankful she chose us!

✨ Tattoos & Smiles at DRRC! ✨

Who says Mondays have to be boring? Not here at DRRC! Our residents kicked off the week with a little flair, fun, and fabulous temporary tattoos! From Dreamcatchers to bold designs, they wore their personalities proudly — and with plenty of laughs along the way. 🦋💪😄

We love seeing our residents embrace creativity and self-expression — especially when it makes Monday something to look forward to! 💙

Today we proudly celebrated Juneteenth—a day that honors freedom, resilience, and the ongoing journey toward equality. ✊🏾✊🏽✊🏿🇺🇸✨

Earlier this week, our residents helped create a meaningful PowerPoint presentation that we shared today with our community. Together, we learned about the history and significance of Juneteenth, including the stories of Opal Lee, known as the "Grandmother of Juneteenth," and Barbara-Rose Collins, the first Black woman from Michigan elected to Congress and the first to introduce legislation recognizing Juneteenth as a federal holiday.

We also reflected on Ruby Bridges, who at just six years old helped pave the way for school integration in America. Her courage and the determination of so many others remind us of the importance of remembrance, education, and unity.

It was a powerful, educational, and uplifting experience.
