💙 Thank You, Parkland Medical Center Team! 💙

We asked you to support the Healthy Food for Healthier Tomorrows Food Drive — and you came through in an amazing way!

Together, we collected 375 pounds of food and essential items to benefit Sonshine Soup Kitchen, supporting families in need. Together with our HCA Healthcare facilities in New Hampshire, we gathered nearly 2,800 pounds of food and essential items to help four food pantries across the Granite State!

Food insecurity remains one of the most pressing health challenges in our communities. That’s why our Parkland family was proud to join other HCA Healthcare facilities nationwide for this initiative — ensuring families have access to healthy meals during this holiday season.

Your generosity and compassion truly make a difference. Thank you for showing what community and care look like! 💪

If you’re struggling with depression, these tips from the NAMI may help you manage it better so you can enjoy holiday festivities:

🎯 Be aware of your personal triggers.

📅 Do your best to avoid overscheduling – it’s okay to say no.
🛑 Set boundaries with people who make you feel negative emotions.
🧘 Make time for relaxation, deep breathing or meditation to help ease stress.
🍷 Drink in moderation as alcohol can amplify negative emotions.

Across our broader HCA Healthcare system of care, we are part of an integrated network of mental health and wellness facilities, comprising over 50 inpatient facilities and more than 200 outpatient programs across 15 states. Congratulations to our DAISY Award recipient of the month, Sarah Rahilly, RN, Medical Surge Unit! A patient who nominated Sarah said, “Sarah has a warm demeanor and her ability to build a rapport with me as a patient was impeccable. She was very attentive to my needs and her nursing assessment was very thorough. As I am also an RN, I felt her care was absolutely above average and she was able to take away my anxiety by giving me personal attention and talking me through my questions.”

Chest pain feels different for everyone — it can be a dull ache or a sudden, sharp stabbing sensation. Regardless of how it feels, it’s important to take chest pain seriously. If the discomfort sticks around, it could be a sign of a more serious, potentially life-threatening condition like a heart attack or a blood clot.

Last year across our broader HCA Healthcare network, our emergency rooms saw nearly 838,000 visits related to cardiac complaints. You know your body better than anyone. If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts. And if your chest pain is severe or accompanied by any of the symptoms shown here, seek emergency care immediately.
