Team members recently attended Ottumwa’s 4-H STEAMfest event, where they led a “Be-Leaf in Yourself” activity for youth! Kids wrote something positive about themselves or something they were grateful for on a paper leaf and added it to the tree. Iowa PCA staff also connected with parents and providers to share information about system navigation services.

We’re grateful for the chance to be involved in the community and always value opportunities to connect with partners, share information about system navigation, and strengthen relationships. Thanks for the opportunity to participate in this event!

District 4 & 5 navigators, leads, and our Director of System Navigation recently visited Ember Recovery (YSS) to tour their campus and learn more about the inpatient and IOP treatment programs they provide for adolescents and young adults with SUD.

Our team values every opportunity to connect with community partners, share about system navigation, and strengthen relationships! This visit offered a meaningful look at the care and support Ember provides to young people on their recovery journey.

With the September 30 federal funding deadline fast approaching, Iowa’s community health center advocates traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with lawmakers. Their top priorities: securing increased funding for community health centers, supporting the National Health Service Corps and Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education program, and protecting the 340B drug pricing program.

Recently, two of our team members participated in the Peace Over Poison event hosted by Life Connections Peer Recovery Services in DeWitt, Iowa. The day featured a panel discussion, Q&A, provider resource tables, and even face painting fun!
