Aldo, the great horned owl we care for, snacks on a chipmunk and contemplates Owl-O-Ween. He thinks it is a good idea to have an entire holiday dedicated to owls. He wants me to be sure and invite everyone to join us on Saturday, October 29 between 1 and 5:30.

We have been taking reservations, but Aldo feels it is critical that everyone know there is enough room if people simply want to drive out to the BH Raptor Center. Price is $1, and you can go Trunk-or-Treating, dissect owl pellets, get your photo taken by professional photographer Audra Van Ekeren, help paint pumpkins, and see the owls and other avian ambassadors.

The address is 15256 EAST Highway 44, Rapid City. Easier than that, drive to the Regional Airport turn-off and continue EAST for 4.5 miles. The buildings are on the north side of the highway and have red metal roofs.

I've always enjoyed messing around in the kitchen, experimenting and making my own blends of balms and bars. It's fun! My signature product, Whispering Owl Savasana Balm, is a minty lavender blend coveted by yoga teachers and students alike.
