We use them twice a day, everyday, but when did toothbrushes start becoming our tools for oral health? 🤔
Most historians agree that the first toothbrushes—which were frayed twigs—appeared as early as ancient Babylonian and Egyptian times between 3500-3000 B.C. From there, it’s believed that early Chinese oral health advocates created the first natural bristle toothbrushes with pig's hair.
The evolution continued through the 18th and 19th centuries before the design of the modern toothbrush came to be.
