God can only be found in the here and now! As I have practiced this alone time with God I have learned I am more peaceful, more alive! I may well be walking in a fog with everything around me dimmed as I keep my eyes stayed on God. I choose not to worry about my life as God has my back.

God has yours too! Do you trust Him to guide you through the twists and turns of the day? The complicated relationships? Do you trust God with your finances? Your children or your parents? “We will always face trouble in this life and we will always have God with us” helping us if we allow. The “if we allow” part is huge because we have free will. We have minds that immediately go into high gear to solve the problem often God comes second even third in our thoughts to resolve the problem.

Perhaps it’s just me! I honestly do my best to put God first but when I feel threatened, afraid, uncertain my mind goes into overdrive. I am grateful it has gotten better over the years but if I am honest I still go straight to problem solving over prayer. Even though I invite God into my day every morning. Even though I have reminders all around me. Even though I listen to Christian contemporary music often, I try to “fix” the situation by thinking I can!

I recently had a conversation with a trusted friend about this very matter. So this is something I had been thinking about before today’s devotional. I know God is driving home a message that He is still in charge! That friend said come to me before you have a solution not after! There it is go to God first then a trusted friend. Perhaps God will use that trusted friend to provide insight that we can’t see! All I know is I will continue to try whatever I can to keep God first in all of my affairs! Pamela Anne

What does it feel like when the light of Gods presence shines within you? For me it is a feeling in my core and sometimes it is a warm embrace. Seeking God’s guidance every morning is my favorite part of the day. It is an opportunity to stay present and focused on connecting with His power and is necessary for my mental and emotional health. Without this relationship I shudder to think where I would be!

I am aware that this is just a beginning, with each day I choose to deepen further this connection and remain in the state of surrender as He does the work in me to grow me and change me as He sees fit. I know that God is always doing a thing and I am here for it! Blessings of love and peace, Pamela

I love that my relationship with God is not contingent on earning and deserving as I once believed. It was decades before I was truly able to see God as a loving and gentle God. He simply wants us to spend time with Him. He wants us to share our thoughts with Him and He wants us to listen for His answer! He wants us to know our worth! He wants us to receive His gifts of love, peace, and joy! He also wants us to receive the experiences of the people He places on our path!

Today take a moment to Believe and receive!

I am so grateful for a relationship with a God of my understanding! It took years to get to this place of surrender and acceptance, as well as understanding. I have spent years researching religion and the Bible. I wanted to understand God! I can't say that I fully understand but I can say that since I have made a conscious decision to make God the most important thing in my life, my life got easier and more peaceful.

I do not feel the loneliness I used to feel. I do not feel lost. I do not feel hopeless. I am no longer angry and bitter. All of those feelings were my daily lot! I also do not feel like I have to have my life all figured out! What a relief! The idea of God is unconditional love and acceptance as opposed to sinless perfectionism. Our errors are as perfect as our successes! I am grateful that my concept of a loving being does not have to match anyone else's! I get to be the love I want to see! I choose to see the way God sees! Identifying with the man Jesus was and is will always be a part of me and my journey! Just my thoughts from my experience! Pamela Anne

We can start our Monday off on the right foot by setting a reminder to “gently nudge your mind back to God when you are irritated or upset!” God wants us to focus our entire being on Him at all times. God also knows our nature and how easily distracted we become.

I have found that setting reminders on my phone are helpful! One such reminder asks “Is what I am thinking about moving me closer to God or keeping me stuck in the ego.” That reminder brings me back into the moment and reminds me that God is with me in this situation. I need to be reminded that God is always doing a thing but I need to be present in peace to see it! Pamela Anne

Please God not people! This is not always so easy, at least it wasn’t in the beginning of my journey. I don’t know many people that don’t want to be loved, accepted, and approved by their fellows! Yet in some instances when we commit to be obedient to God’s will for our lives it upsets others. What do you do then?

I have found that it has been helpful to pray! It helped me to remember that Jesus wasn’t accepted either. Jesus was accused of blasphemy. He was denied by His fellows as well as betrayed. He loved the unlovable and those people who were shunned by mainstream society. He died on the cross for all sin.

It is hard to witness gossip, ridicule, and mean behavior from adults who say they love God. We must always remember that God made each one of us in His image, we don’t have to agree with each other and we do not have to ice out people who think differently than we do! Jesus came with a new command: Love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and love one another as you love yourself! Let’s remember to share that message!

God is a perfect gentleman! He does not go where He is not invited. He will never interfere with our free will. That God given gift is an opportunity to choose our path. In my case I needed every error. My stubbornness and determination were my barriers to God until they weren’t! Yet God never gave up on me!

I am grateful that God has loved me from the beginning of time to now. I can see where He tried to guide me and I can see where I went in the opposite direction! Often I chose the path that would please people. We cannot serve two masters. Today I choose to love people and serve God. In loving people I am free. Pamela Anne
