The peptide trend is everywhere right now, but here’s what’s not being talked about: the quality of evidence, long-term safety data, and whether there are equally effective AND safer alternatives.

I’m not anti-peptides. I’m genuinely interested in where this research goes. But I am anti-hype without critical thinking.

When you’re exhausted and burnt out, it’s easy to want the quick fix. I get it. But what are you trading in the long run for that short-term gain?

As a nurse practitioner, I always ask: Is there something that works just as well (or better) with a proven safety profile?

Most of the time, the answer is yes and it involves eating real food, moving your body, and giving your system what it actually needs to heal.

The basics aren’t sexy. They’re not quick. But they’re backed by decades of research and they actually work long-term.

Fight the FOMO. Do your research. And remember that anecdotes aren’t evidence.

Want to naturally boost GLP-1 without weekly injections? Here’s what I actually eat 🌱

That bowl? Fiber-rich whole grains, beans, and veggies. The exact foods that signal your body to produce its own GLP-1 aka the satiety hormone everyone’s injecting right now.

Your gut already knows how to make GLP-1. It just needs the right fuel: soluble fiber from oats, beans, lentils, flax seeds, and vegetables.

These foods slow digestion, keep you full for hours, stabilize blood sugar, and support a healthy gut microbiome. All without a prescription, side effects, or $1000/month price tag.

The weight loss industry doesn’t want you to know that foundational nutrition works. Because there’s no profit in a bowl of beans.

But your body? Your body is literally designed for this.

Eat plants. Feel satisfied. Stop outsourcing what your body can do on its own.

You aren’t crazy.

Your body is literally trying to protect you.

Every time you save that post instead of starting, every time you buy supplements but never take them, every time you meal prep Sunday and quit by Wednesday - your body learned that trying = failing = feeling worse.

So it keeps you in research mode. Keeps you saving and planning and “getting ready” without ever actually doing.

That’s protection.

But here’s the thing you’re not seeing:
You’re also using that protection as permission to stay stuck.

The “broken unicorn” story - where nothing works for YOU specifically - that’s not just biology. That’s you giving yourself an out.

Because if you’re uniquely broken, you can’t fail. You were set up to not succeed anyway.

Your inflammation IS real. Your joint pain, brain fog, exhaustion - that’s not in your head.

Chronic inflammation literally blocks the neurotransmitters you need for motivation and executive function. It dysregulates your gut microbiome, spikes your cortisol, and keeps your body in constant survival mode.

But you’re also letting that biology become the reason you don’t have to try anymore.

And that cycle? That’s what’s actually keeping you inflamed.

Because inflammation doesn’t respond to more research or saved posts or another round of “I’ll start Monday.”

It responds to eating a whole food plant-based diet.

Not another supplement stack. Not another high-protein protocol. Actual plants - the most anti-inflammatory foods on the planet that your body is literally begging for.

Ready to stop saving and start healing? 🌱

I went from 164lbs to 139lbs eating mostly plants and lifting weights 3x a week. But tbh the weight loss was just a bonus compared to everything else.

The real win was getting my energy back, ditching the afternoon naps, and finally understanding why every restrictive diet I’d tried before failed.

Here’s what actually surprised me about this whole journey (swipe through — especially slide 3 because my husband would want me to brag about that one 😂).

The thing nobody tells you?

You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to track macros. You don’t have to punish yourself with cardio you hate.

You just have to eat more plants, lift heavy things, and give yourself some damn grace.

Can I get a 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 in the comments if you would also like an ass that don’t quit?

Nobody warns you about the weird parts.
Not the hard parts - the WEIRD parts.

Like how everyone suddenly becomes a nutrition expert when you mention eating more plants.

…Or how your skin does more with less dairy than it ever did with that expensive skincare routine.

The truth? Switching to more plant-based eating as a mom isn’t what wellness culture makes it out to be.

It’s not restrictive. It’s not complicated. It’s not depriving your kids.

It’s actually simpler, cheaper, and honestly - you’ll be mad you didn’t do it sooner because of how good you feel.

The energy comes back. The brain fog lifts. Your digestion works like it’s supposed to.

And yeah, people will have opinions. About your plate, your kids, your choices.

But here’s what I know as an NP who made the switch: the same people questioning your “extreme” plant-based choices pop Tums daily and call it normal.

You’re not doing anything radical. You’re just feeding your body food that doesn’t create the problems you’ve been trying to supplement your way out of.

Swipe through for what actually happens when you start eating more plant-based. Some of it’s annoying, most of it’s amazing, all of it’s real.

Which one hit closest to home for you?
